I read a lot of things without commenting because I don't want to be the idiot that is just over here going "This is cute" when I don't really have any other thoughts on it. Even though I realize that the author probably appreciates even small comments like that, I still feel like a dumbass for not having anything better to say.

You really don’t have to write an entire essay back. I appreciate even getting a “<3″ on a fic, believe it or not. Don’t think saying “this is cute” is a dumb comment or you’re an idiot for writing that. If the author was aiming for cute, you saying “this is cute” lets them know that they did a good job. :)

That said, if you want to know a secret way to blow a writer’s mind and not have to think of words to write yourself? Reaction images. 

If the fic is on tumblr, it’s easy enough to reblog with a gif attached. In AO3, you need to know a little bit of html:

You can do that without any words at all and it’ll make the author’s day :)

The Rashida Jones connection to the Obamas and Homeland has me SHOOK. Thank you for sharing, Sara.

When I first got into Homeland, I ran across this gifset of Rashida Jones talking about her Homeland obsession (she was asked what she’s currently obsessed with) and felt a real and true kinship with her. This is a true “oldie but a goodie” post (one of the first ever on HYH, all the way back in June 2013). 

I don’t think I thought I’d be sitting here four and a half years later. Rashida, I see you. And I raise you. 

(By the way, the Jon Favreau/Rashida Jones stuff has been removed from either of their respective wikipedia pages, but photo evidence of their relationship exists elsewhere on the interwebs.)

Those gifs with Q suffering. The waking up scene made me think (again) about how low writers were to portray woman with no heart. I mean if it was not even Quinn. To wake ANY person from coma after what he's been through (sarin gas chamber) is pure sadism. why Gansa is so sick person? Does he hate women? Does he hate ppl with mental issues? Or maybe he has no heart at all. All of it? It wasnt for creativity sake. what is wrong with HL crew?

I found that scene well and beautifully done. Carrie had an impossible choice to make and even if Carrie hadn’t agreed, Saul would have made the doctors wake Quinn up. Quinn had the potential knowledge to prevent an attack which would have cost thousands of lives–and I still believe that he would have made the choice to sacrifice himself for the greater good without batting an eyelid.

My reading is that Carrie knew they’d wake him up anyway, and so she decided to be there to guide him back, hoping that seeing her would make it less horrifying for Quinn. So I like to see it as an act of compassion and love. She knew it would happen anyway and she didn’t turn her back and run away, but was there at his side.

Of course the outcome was horrible but Carrie is not to blame for that unless you believe she could have stopped Saul. I firmly believe she would have been outranked in that decision.

I LOVE that scene!!! Their hands touch while they switch burner phone and right after the camera lingers on Quinn having a weird expression on his face. No other reason to show his reaction than the hands touching. It’s such a short thing and I missed it the first time I saw the scene. Aaaw! To me, that‘s when Quinn gets „physical“ proof which confirms he‘s in the shit aka likes Carrie way too much.
