Hello everyone, we have some bad news and good news:
Lets first start with the bad news:
Abnormal Evenings as a minecraft server is no longer in existence. Most of you may be wondering why. The other owners and I feel staffing minecraft servers has run its course. Each of us has been doing this for five+ years off and on. With our ever-growing busy lives (college, work, medical, family, ect.) we no longer have the time to give a server the attention and growth it needs to sustain itself. We can not keep the charade going if we can not give it our all. Lastly, we do hope each of you had a wonderful time while playing and building on our server as much as we did, but it is time to move onto greener pastures.
Now with the good news:
Some of you may be wondering: "Did you save the server files before the shutdown?" or "Can I download some of my builds?"
- The answer to your questions is: Yes we did and soon you can.
Now I am sure most of you are wondering: "What will happen to the Discord?"
- We have decided to convert this Discord into an RP discord with a similar RP format to the server.
- New rules will be implemented, ranks such as: "builder, head builder, all donator ranks" will be deleted, the veteran rank will stay and certain channels will be deleted/added.
- Past donators, builders, and veterans will also get a treat since they stuck around.
"What about the tumblr?"
- It shall become a hub for memes, shitposting and a way to get new blood in here.
As of 12:00 am CST on March 3rd, 2018, all currently active roleplay characters have been reset! Any documentation kept by characters such as photos, writing, and so fourth in Abnormal Evenings will have blurred out names and faces. Documentation and objects carry over. Have fun!
If the players vote for a roleplay reset in the upcoming poll, the next one is on Friday, June 1st at 12:00 am CST.
I've been stuck in the jail after it said I've been released for some time now and I was just wondering if there is something specific I'm supposed to do or it's just a glitch
What is your current minecraft username? Send it with an ask.
We will figure out what is going on with the jail and get back to you as soon as possible.
If you have any more questions or concerns send them here or ask them on our Discord.
Home Planet Description: Kepler-186f, unlike Earth, has a 130-day year with tamer seasonal changes due to its distance from its dwarf star. Even though it’s significantly dimmer and half the mass of the Earth’s sun, the star the planet orbits around appears slightly larger than the sun on Earth in the planet’s surface because its Earth-like atmosphere prevents blue light from reaching Kepler-186f. Kelper-186e is visible as a bright star in the sky during the early evening hours.
Residence: Noah has no permanent residence, but he uses temporary shelters come from a yellow container of 501 “Porta-Bubbles”. The container produces a portable residence out of a bubble. Noah determines the size of his residence based on how long he blows into the bubble wand, and the wand itself has a turbine and generator to collect kinetic energy for a rapidly-expanding chemical called “Keplurnium-39”, which is exclusively available on Kepler-186f. As soon as Noah stops blowing into the bubble wand, the sphere immediately hardens into an insulated plastic dome. Another device called a “Porta Bubble Spread” maintains the kinetic energy in a small square-like area so the square space remains liquidized while the rest of the bubble hardens. Since Keplurnium-39 repels oxygen, a long tube needs to be pushed through the entrance to create an artificial channel for oxygen.
Weapon Description: A halberd is a two-handed pole weapon that combines the design of a spear and an axe. Noah’s expandable halberd is made from nanocomposite metal. A button at the base of the halberd allows it to be quick to adjust if it’s held upside-down. The weapon locks if Noah releases the button. Oiling the halberd maintains expandability while sharpening the halberd maintains its damage. If it’s well cared for, the Expandable Halberd deals three hearts worth of damage in Minecraft.
Noah has military grade hand-to-hand combat training that covers offensive and defensive strikes. However, because of how recklessly he treats his body, he tends to injure himself when he uses it.
Special Abilitie(s): “Transference” – Noah’s teleportation-based ability is almost like a reversed astral projection. When he projects himself to a location, his spirit immediately becomes solid. Since he’s not physically present in the astral realm when he goes to a new location, he’s unable to interact with the astral world in the new location he “projects” to. His physical form, on the other hand, becomes unconscious and transparent like his spiritual body use to be. His main body is no longer physical. It only exists in the astral when Noah uses Transference. Noah can’t interact with the astral realm through body and mind when he uses Transference, and his ability makes him extremely vulnerable to possession.
Special Skill(s): Survival Skills – Noah knows how to perform basic first aid, start a fire, filter his own water, and navigate based on a planet’s stars, the planet’s electromagnetic pull, and the planet’s oceans.
Appearance: Eyes – Hazel; Since his eyes are a mixture of green and blue, they tend to appear gray when Noah’s indoors.
Hair – Noah’s hair is dyed a mixture of dark purple and red. His hair is typically tied into a stylized bun.
Casual Outfit – Noah typically wear dark gray loose-fitting jeans, black knee-high boots, and a red vest over his V-neck shirt with purple gloves.
Accessories – Noah wears a set of red goggles with a gold trim. He also uses a dark gray tech-backpack with a wireless charging port that accepts any small electronic device.
Race – Mixed (African American & Caucasian)
Height – 5’1”
Weight – 97 lbs.
Physical Strengths: Hyperactivity – Since Noah has more energy than the average person, he tends to move, act, and think quickly.
Endurance – If he’s active or having an adrenaline rush, Noah’s pain and activity tolerance increases significantly.
Flexibility – Since Noah’s a thin and lanky person, he knows how to contort his body without hurting himself.
Physical Weaknesses: Burnout – Since Noah uses up a lot of energy, he tends to rest and sleep longer than his peers.
Accident & Injury Prone – Since Noah tends to ignore internal and external limitations that push him way beyond is limit, he tends to get sprains, bruises, scratches, and other mild injuries. Each time Noah gets hurt, he’s more likely to get injured again because he barely gives these injuries enough time to heal.
Iron-Deficiency Anemia – If Noah doesn’t eat on time, he experiences fatigue. Outside of meals, he experiences an unusually rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath when he exercises. He tends to have a hard time concentrating. He also experiences dizziness, pale skin, leg cramps in the middle of the night, and bruising. While some patients with anemia experience insomnia, Noah doesn’t manifest this symptom.
Personality: Optimistic – Noah talks with more exclamation points than periods. He’s even more chipper when others are sad, angry, or confused. Noah’s optimism is his default personality trait. He uses it on everyone he meets. Noah’s even more optimistic in life-threatening situations.
Apathetic – Noah doesn’t listen to the people he doesn’t have a platonic or romantic relationship with. He’d kill a stranger just to understand something. If he wanted to know how deep a canyon was, Noah would push a tourist off the cliff to see how far the drop is.
Protective – If Noah cares about someone, he’d go to extensive lengths to assure their safety. Noah tends to be overbearing, especially if the person he cares about is more timid or meek.
Brutally Honest – Noah tells the truth to everyone, especially if it hurts. He’ll blurt out his observations and opinions even if nobody asked for them. He has no qualms blurting out the truth immediately as soon as someone else spins a lie regardless of the trouble it gets them in.
Impatient – Noah doesn’t sit still long enough to keep a conversation going, completely finish a task, or set up a permanent residence.
Curiosity – If Noah wants to know something about someone, he intends to find out everything he can. Usually, he acts this way with people he cares about. He tends to notice even the tiniest things like eating habits, speaking habits, and speech patterns. If Noah wants to know something about a location or object, he won’t rest until he finds the solution. Noah focuses for days on end when it comes to puzzles, codes, mysteries, riddles, and treasure maps to the point it negatively affects his health and well-being.
Disrespectful – Noah acts in a very impolite way. Instead, of behaving appropriately, he prefers to be himself. He disregards manners, etiquette, and socially acceptable behaviors in favor of the things he likes.
Unethical – Since Noah isn’t bound to the laws of a home country, he has no regard for rules and regulations of the places he visits. Noah usually decides to bend or break the law at his own convince or for the convince of those he cares about.
Bold – Noah initiates a conversation, and he has no problem taking the first step into the unknown. If he has a question other people are afraid to ask, he asks it.
Picky – Noah refuses to eat meats if their dry or soggy. If the spices don’t suit his taste, he’ll walk out of the restaurant if he doesn’t have a set if spices on him. When he leaves, Noah takes the entire plate with him, goes to a supermarket, purchases better spices, and returns to his seat afterwards. He also prefers to interact with people based on his own personal preferences. The more he nit-picks at a person’s attributes, the fonder he is of the person because he wants them to be the best person they can be.
Romantic – Noah becomes very persistent if he meets someone suitable to be a romantic partner. He continues to pursue his target until he tries every romantic trend he knows of. When he runs out of ideas, he moves on immediately. Once he moves on, he does not give second chances.
Dramatic – Noah intentionally overreacts to almost everything once he gets to know someone for a while. His reactions are usually three times more expressive than what he’s feeling. Noah only acts like that around people he cares about.
Risky – Noah has absolutely no regard for his own well-being or the well-being of others, especially if he takes an interest in a dangerous task. He often gets injured repeatedly as a result.
Masochist – Noah has an unimaginably high pain tolerance. If there’s a pain stimulus he can’t handle, he masks it with his never-ending optimism even when he’s tearing up and shaking.
Reactance - Due to the instincts Noah honed during military training and the dangers of traveling, Noah doesn't react well to surprise physical contact. If someone he doesn't know well suddenly grabs him, he needs to physically dig his teeth into his lip or his nails into his palm to prevent himself from hurting a stranger.
Restraint - Noah prefers control over his actions. He refuses to do unconscious harm. Instead, he wants to make a conscious choice to hurt someone. He'll deliberately restrain himself if something takes him by surprise.
Control - Noah, surprisingly, doesn't care about having control over a situation. If something doesn't go Noah's way after he tries every possible angle, he lets it go.
Immersion – Noah prefers not to utilize the latest technology since each country on Kelper-186f varies in technological advancement. Instead, he prefers to immerse himself into the culture he’s traveling through.
Giving – Noah doesn’t care that much about carrying anything beyond what he needs to survive. So, he sometimes gives away expensive items like pieces of technology from his world if someone likes it more than he does.
Secretive – Noah reveals so much about himself that most people overlook the key factors about Noah. It takes him months to reveal his “Transference” ability, and Noah’s reveal does not necessarily suggest he trusts the person he shows it to. If someone decides to drive Noah into a corner, he usually finds other ways to avoid revealing his skills. Even in close friendships, Noah typically refuses to reveal his abilities or internal struggles from weeks to months.
Attention Seeking – Noah’s love for attention motivates most of his overzealous behavior. If someone ignores Noah, that person commits a grave offense. Noah sometimes deliberately hurts other people for attention, and his actions quickly become fatal if others continue to ignore him.
Hobbies and Interests: If Noah hangs out in a library, he likes to collect maps and books on the mechanics of the machinery he uses, like his motorcycle called “Noah’s Ark”. He also likes to read books with survival skills such as first aid, herbals, and tool craftsmanship. Noah usually collects paint brushes to use for his make-up, and he keeps an entire case with six different brands of make-up from his world. He uses each brand based on the skin-type of the person he’s working with. He also keeps two large containers of red and purple hair dye as well as 2-3 small packages of the remaining colors. Noah likes to read and watch romantic series with action, comedy, horror, or tragedy. Noah’s a great storyteller, and he enjoys watching theatrical performances as an overly-enthusiastic critic. He prefers the Gothic architecture of churches, and he often brings a camera with him to take a couple of pictures of the more fascinating places he travels to. He’s overwhelmingly interested in the extraterrestrial life of other planets and their mechanical achievements, even though he struggles to understand it. Noah’s fluent in American Sign Language, and he works on his signing in his spare time.
Backstory: In the year of 4023, A group of 503 people who were sent to colonize Kelper-186f from Kelper-186e. With the assistance of the resources from Kelper-186e, Noah’s colony managed to stabilize the atmosphere and live a peaceful life. Eventually, Noah was born to a loving father and a distant step-mother through a mistress during December 2nd in the year of 4066, who carried Noah in the place of his infertile step-mother. As Noah grew up, human species from across the galaxy started to settle on the new planet.
Growing up, Noah outright ignored his parent’s disciplinary actions, and any attempt to sedate his hyperactive behavior was met with resistance. The child would hide the medication under his tongue, hide it in his cheek, or vomit soon after administration. He became such a hassle to his parents with is disobedience that his father used his connections and Noah’s high intellectual assessment score to give Noah early admission Kelper-186f’s Interplanetary Military Academy as soon as he turned 11 Earth years old. While in boarding school, Noah learned many of his survival, weaponry, and mechanical skills. However, Noah describes these years as the most “miserable of his life” for their intense disciplinary action. Noah prepared and planned for his escape during his entire stay.
The day before he was going to graduate and join the military as a commanding officer at 15 Earth years, he used the allowance he built up over the years to purchase a motorcycle. The night before his graduation, he dyed his hair and left the facility to travel the world. He used the make-up and hair dye to make money on the side while he traveled. As time passed, Noah’s name and low prices of his hair and make-up services, which was based on the economical state of the area he was in, traveled throughout Kelper-186f. However, Noah’s notoriety eventually got the Kelper-186f’s Interplanetary Military’s attention, and he was identified as the 17 Earth year old the AWOL graduate, Nathaniel Oehl.
As of now, Kepler-186f has a total of 136 budding countries. Before Noah fled from Kelper-186f, he visited approximately 56 of them before he boarded a merchant’s space shuttle illegally. After the captain caught him in the storage unit, the crew pushed him into an escape pod where he was ejected into the depth of space. Noah had nothing but a limited amount of food, water, a cryo-chamber, and a manual to operate the device along with his motorcycle, which the captain reluctantly allowed him to take with him after nearly thirty minutes of overly dramatic and tearful begging. Noah programmed the escape pod to transport him to the next inhabitable planet with life, entered the cryo-chamber, and remains in a stasis to this day until he’s finally ready to land.
Do you guys ever consider removing the disease plugin now that the server is just on hard difficulty? I feel like having to die in order to reset your health/sickness and be wary of biomes/environments is a little 'extra'.
Let’s see if anyone else feels the same way! Do you guys want the disease plug-in to be removed? Use the link below to cast your vote!
For players who roleplay on the server, current roleplays are now reset as of midnight at the beginning of 1/1/2018! Characters will not remember the names of people they interacted with, and any written documentation of them will have blurred names. Technology used by characters in roleplay for communication will also have a strange error, whiping away all data.
hello, i am a player on the server and would like to have the discord link so i can join the discord
Sure thing, but send us your current Minecraft username first and make sure to send it off of anonymous then we will give you the invite code in private.
