Background:
Emmet was born to unknown parents, given up at birth and adopted to an elderly couple who raised him up as good as they could. Their own children had grown up and moved out, leaving them to feel like empty nesters, so they took Emmet in and raised him like their own child. His foster siblings had been kind whenever they visited, bringing him presents and taking him places when they could. All in all, he lived a happy, simple life. His elderly foster parents couldn't really keep up with him, but they did what they could and
Emmet learned how to handle daily chores to show his appreciation towards them. The year before graduating from school, however, the expected came, still a little too soon for Emmet, but his mother passed away, followed soon after by his father. His emotions spiraled down at having lost them, but his foster siblings let him stay at the house and gave him allowance to sustain himself until he could go off to college. Still though, his grief was still strong for he'd loved his parents dearly, he'd just been going through the motions or else he'd collapse into despair. During his grief though, he'd been neglectful about himself and his medications. So while he was coming back from school, his heat struck.
With no one at home waiting for him, no one knew that he was in need of rescue, his foster siblings were too far away to be able to help him in time. As a result, he'd been assaulted by a stranger off the street. Emmet couldn't remember his face, but by the time he came to, he knew what had happened, could feel it and immediately felt sick. Luckily whoever assaulted him had left before Emmet woke up, since Emmet had been a minor at the time and didn't want to be caught. Somehow, Emmet managed to finish schooling, but before he could move on to college, he grew sick, serious enough that he went to the doctor to see what was wrong, there he found out that he was pregnant.
Alone, without his parents' guidance, he was shocked and didn't know what to do in this situation. He'd even thought about giving up the baby before it even could come into the world. However, he felt too hurt to do so. His parents had shown him kindness, shown him what joys it could be to be a parent. So Emmet kept the baby. That meant, he had to give up going to college in order to care for the baby, too ashamed to ask his siblings for help, he distanced himself until it was only him and his baby. It was difficult, being young with no work experience, an omega and pregnant. Finding a job was next to impossible. Finally, a manager at a fancy hotel took pity on him and hired Emmet on as a room cleaning service. It wasn't any grand pay, but it was enough to allow Emmet to afford a small, dingy studio apartment which he lived with his daughter. All his care and money went towards her, to make sure she could persevere in life despite all the odds stacked against them.
