There was a lot of work to be done. Luciel knew as much. Heâd been reminded. Threatened. Beaten, over deadlines. And still⌠He just wasnât in the mood.
Many things were floating around in the mess that he called his mind. The RFAâs newest member, for one. A hacker nemesis, for another. Vâs pointed silence for another-another. The past few days had become a blur. One long line of code across his screen and pain in both his temples.Â
Did God want to play some kind of game with him? He was beginning to truly wonder.
âWe must keep our faith,â he was quick to remind himself. The cross around his neck hung so heavily he could not dare to forget it. The piece of metal was part of him, after all. And such was his connection to the Lord above. The Almighty was part of him⌠something to be trusted. Believed in. Things happened for a reason. Luciel just needed to pray that the solutions came just as quickly as the problems did.
âLet us open new doors, my Lord⌠and new bags of chips, too.â As his fingers went to the top of his bag, poised and ready to tear open the delicate foil⌠his phone buzzed.Â
Part of him would have preferred not glancing its way. If it was from Vanderwood⌠that would be terrible. But if it was from V⌠They did need to talk⌠âI suppose I mustâŚâ
The chips were replaced quickly, fingers now sliding across the smooth phone screen. âHmâŚ?â Speak of the devilâŚÂ Their newest member had contacted him! Purely out of the blue! What fun~

Sun-hwa has almost resigned herself to actually getting something done when she hears her phone chime. She immediately flops back on the bed and reaches for it. Sheâs definitely not taking a response as an excuse to delay getting up, nope.
She frowns as she reads over the response. Hmmm. Well, damn. âVery oftenâ is sort of the opposite of what she was hoping for. Sheâs not exactly in the habit of causing disasters, but something about the sudden, increased interest in her -- and being on the viewing end of an apparently oft-checked camera -- makes her a little antsy.
It would be the first time in ages that sheâd have a witness to a fuck-up like that. Maybe sheâs just been riding a streak of good luck, catastrophe-wise, and fate decides that now is the perfect time to break that streak?
...right, okay, sheâs overthinking this.
[text] i mean
[text] maybe
[text] a girl has needs.
Wait, backtrack, that might cross the line from jokey to straight-up misleading, thatâs... worse than if sheâs just been upfront about this, nice job.Â
[text] by which i mean, of course
[text] probably shitty habits which should never see the light of day
