Where pedestrians, motorcycles, rickshaws, camels, bicycles, cars, and elephants all share the same road.

We arrived here on Tuesday after 2 days of traveling and jumped straight into orientation and class(IHP rests for no one). I still haven’t caught up on sleep and I don’t think my body will ever adjust fully. I’m now at 10.5 hours ahead of the east coast so communication is increasingly more difficult. But on the bright side, I love India so who cares. We have an army of auto rickshaws that bring us to and from class and everywhere else we need to go. The drivers are a little crazy but I love it. We were already able to go to a music performance here and I’m so happy we’re really jumping into everything. I already feel so comfortable here and it’s amazing. Also a plus that a good majority of people speak English here…even if I do keep speaking a mix of broken Spanish-French-Wolof by accident. One of the bigger adjustments is the vegetarian diet here, especially coming here after Buenos Aires and then Dakar where meat was a staple in the diet.
