October 2 2020 - Chilean riot police attempted to murder a 16-year old demonstrator by throwing him of a bridge in Santiago. Other protesters managed to save the unconscious boy before he drowned, and he remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

The next day protesters took to the streets against this newest case of police brutality, with two of them holding up an anti-police banner in the river where the boy was thrown down.

Chile’s public prosecutor has said that since the start of Chile’s popular uprising last October 8,575 human rights violations have been perpetrated by the Carabineros in the repression of protests, and only 16 police agents have been stood down as a result. [video]/[video]

Encapuchados levantaron barricadas en inmediaciones de la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (ex-pedagógico), en el marco de la 14° jornada de conmemoración por el asesinato del joven Mapuche Alex Lemún, asesinado por la policía de Chile el 12 de noviembre del 2002.

La protesta busca también solidarizar con los Jóvenes Mapuche detenidos y torturados por Carabineros en la localidad de Ercilla, Región de la Araucanía, hechos recientemente ocurridos y que tienen como consecuencia uno de de los comuneros internado en el Hospital con un derrame cerebral.
