FALLOUT 2.05
bonus:
I think my favorite thing about That Scene between Lucy and Cooper is that it went against my initial expectations. I knew we were going to get the betrayal. But I had thought to get to her punching him out that window, maybe he'd say something callous, maybe he'd be a real asshole, whether to push her away and make it easier to do or otherwise.
But instead, in the moments leading up to and during, he's quiet and gentle and all but broken under the weight of his guilt. He can barely look at her until he has to, until he calls her by her name and tries to reason out that this was always going to happen (it's his family, his sole reason to keep going for over 200 years, of course it was always going to happen).
I just didn't expect the scene to play out the way it did, and that made the pain from the betrayal felt by the two of them hit that much harder (no pun intended).
I really love this show, guys đ
Cooper's stressed as fuck "those aren't chickens" while Lucy is doing unconcerned bok boks in the background after having yelled loudly a few times is the funniest thing
like, you brought your little yapper to the big dog side of the dog park feeling full of herself and ready to fight everything, what did you expect my guy
I can't stop thinking about them <3

Yeah, well...How 'bout a boat that's not a boat. You know what I mean? Of course, you do. You take out one plank...boat's the same as it ever was. It's just got aâ a hole in it, that's all. You take out aâ a lot of planks...and all of a sudden, you gotta ask yourself...whatâ what the fuck am I looking at? This ain't no boat. It's just aâ a pile of wood, man. It's just a fŐ˝ckin' pile of wood.

Not Charlie in today's episode dropping the line:
"At the end of the day, we just gotta hope that we bet on the right side"
during the paralleled scenes of him and Cooper and Lucy's rescue from the legion.
And one of the new soundtrack pieces for the show being called "Bet on Hope," which has both little hints of Cooper's theme - not the Ghoul's yodeling or the brazen western - that played during those paralleled scenes as well as undercurrents of what sounds like Lucy's theme.
Just find that interesting is all. đ Curious to see if/how that nets out, likely in either the second to last episode or the finale. Because I think we're definitely getting him betraying Lucy in episode 5 or 6, but what comes after when he realizes his fuck up has the potential to be some really compelling content.
Here's the track:
And here's "Time Takes a Toll" from tonight's episode (Charlie's speech & Cooper rescuing Lucy):
so there are definitely two deathclaws here (because of course it can't just be one) and I can't stop thinking about Lucy's very confident, "oh yeah, we got this" possibly in reference to the first deathclaw
and then the other one shows up and it cuts to them running like they owe those oversized spicy can openers some money

edit: after watching the video several more times I think there may even be a third, rip lucy & the ghoul, 2024-2025
I'm excited for so many things in fallout season 2 but I'm especially excited for this scene between thaddeus and cooper (guessing the trio team up to get lucy back in the last episode or two) where I can only assume thaddeus is like, "so anyway, I'm a ghoul like you now, can I see your neck mouth"
and for cooper to just be like "what in the sweet fuck is that"
