I've already posted this once but I'll do it again cause I think it's the best plot solution.

the concept where touya hides his identity, takes a villains name for himself and no one recognizes him and then he makes an unexpected disclosure of course is good and all that, but just think about something else.

a concept in which the first thing todoroki think about is that dabi is very similar to touya, they connect the dots and begin to believe in it VERY MUCH.

AND DABI IS NOT REALLY TODOROKI.

and just imagine how they will try to talk to him and bring him back to the light and dabi is like "what are you people talking about?" but they will be so encouraged and hopeful by this "my god, you're alive" that they won't listen to his denial.

imagine how dabi is sitting at the league base and complaining to everyone else about how todoroki got him. THIS FAMILY IS STALKING HIM and all that.

or how he goes to cafes with one of brothers and while they are immersed in childhood memories, he just eats at their expense and nods in the right places lol. it's certainly not as dramatic as what we have, but it's terribly funny.

yes, this post was born out of thoughts about HOW no one from todoroki even thought, at least, that they are similar.
