Queen of Pentacles - Missy Elliott by Kendrawcandraw
Our people are literally feeling validated by smoke and mirrors. Conjured spirits transplanted from home and fed to us with the 21st Century mirrors sold, packaged, manufactured, financed and distributed by the descendants of those that bought us with mirrors

Today is the feast day for Shango in the Lukumi (Cuba) orisha tradition. Shango is the KING, and is associated with strength, strategy, and leadership.
#Shango #Chango #Sango
I sometimes use Sundays as a day for self-care which sometimes = taking a break from social media. But I would be remiss if I didn’t take time to honor Baba mi, my father in Ocha, Sango, in honor of his feast day. Sango, you have always fought my battles for me, even before I knew of you. No matter what happens you always protect me and have bore witness that you have removed certain people and elements from life for my progression. Mo fe ire fun Sango for all of your blessings. May you continue to lead and support us, especially in a time of intense oppression, repression and violence and insure victory over all of our enemies. Ase!
May the ancestors bless you and your family with peace and prosperity in 2017!

I love this picture of Oshun because it depicts the Oshun that I know - a fierce mother. Oshun is often likened to a flirtatious party girl but people often forget that she was the sole feminine force sent to make the earth fit for life and when the masculine forces disrespected her they had to appease her and include her in the work to make creation go smoothly. People often describe Oshun as loving, sweet, and relishing in attention but I know her to be as precise and severe as she is loving and sweet and the attention she receives must be on her terms, and is due her because of who and what she is and provides to the entire world - pure, life-sustaining water.
Maferefun to my mother Oshun on her Feast Day! And shout out to all of the children of Oshun today. Let’s make Mama proud!
Offerings to Oshun for an Oshun priestess celebration. Oshun is the orisha of the Oṣogbo River in Nigeria and she is known as a beautiful orisha who blesses with fertility, abundance, love, and all things sweet in life.
Don’t Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
