"you're tellin' me. if anyone ever tells you that ownin' a business, especially a bar, is easy just know that they're either lyin' or they're delusional. either way, not good people to be hangin' around." her tone is light and almost playful, a contrast to the usual neutral polite tone that she kept with most customers.

most of the time, she likes warren. even when they annoyed her, she was still incredibly amused by him. he was one of the few people in her life that she could trust to be honest with her, even if it was said in a less than polite way. His attention returns to the bartender, who prepares his beverage as ordered— is she human? " I'll pay ", short and crisp answer. The contemplation pinching his brows might too easily reveal the lack of ease in his mind. Michael doesn't feel threatened by any means, just hates to remain oblivious to some... truths. " I've heard that this is the most peaceful bar you can find across the states. "

When the drink sits within reach, Michael picks it up to take a first sip, the coolness of which is so refreshing that he must fight the temptation to down it all at once. He lets the taste tickle his tongue for another moment, blinks down at the damp glass he puts back for now. Keeping it cradled in both palms, elbows planted to the counter's edge. " Which is ironic, considering the name. Abomination's. " Cue an upward twitch of his brows, head canting to one side as he visibly gave up on mulling over the energies here, simpering again. " I like that. " Yes, it's chaotic. Irony is a delightful intellectual invention. " How did this place earn said name? "

she can't help but feel a sense of amusement as she watches him try to mull it over and piece things together. his questions cause a slight grin to appear. she loves it when people ask about the bar's origins because it always leaves her with a fun choice: tell the truth or give an outrageous lie. tonight she chooses to lean a bit more into the truth simply because his vibes intrigued her.

arms fold against her chest as her mind decides what to tackle first. "yeah, we've worked hard for that reputation. it wasn't exactly easy to get there, considerin' some folks' natures when they get a bit of booze in 'em. had to dig around for a lot of tricks to help out." here she pauses, debating how much to give away on the name's origin. "it was a nickname of mine growin' up. people didn't quite like me for a variety of reasons, so they tossed it at me to try and hurt me. thought it was long past time to reclaim it for myself." she watches him as she gives a small glimpse into the bar's origins, interested to see what direction he would take the conversation in next.

his opinions on nephilim had changed so often and so vastly; if it had been earlier - he would’ve ordered her to be smote, or done it himself, with no chance for explanation or plea. as with many things, he found himself slowly softening to them as well. riddles, mystery — was a part of him. it merely was; just as judgement and ego were.

the deity narrowed his eyes at her, not due to her insolence - but he wasn’t sure of her enmity. surely, his presence put many in edge; but he wanted to know why. his eyes held her gaze as long as she would. “what’s with the hostility?” amused at her words, he gestured, “oh no. definitely not. but that’s sometimes a good thing.”

he hasn't attacked or threatened to smite her yet, so the nephil took that as a good sign. in fact, he seemed amused with her, which was something that she hadn't expected. still, mags refused to let her guard down or relax in his presence. past experiences had told her that she couldn't afford to do such things, especially in the presence of the man himself. "blame your celestial children. i'm not really fond of divine beings because of them."

were there divine beings out there who wouldn't try to murk her on sight? possibly. sadly, she hasn't really had the chance to meet them. perhaps the big man could start to turn that around. "at least you admit it. points to you on that one." the halfbreed shifted slightly in her seat before leaning forward a bit. "since i have you here, i'm going to ask a question i've been wondering for a while: what did the nephilim do to deserve being on both heaven and hell's hit lists? i have wanted nothing more than to live my life in peace and at every single turn, i've been prevented from doing so. if it weren't for your angels, i'd more than likely still be living a happy life married to one of the most amazing men that i've ever met. but because of the actions of a few however many thousands of years ago, i've been hunted since i was an innocent child."

she had to pause to take a breath, blinking rapidly as tears formed behind her eyelids. mags hated crying, especially in front of others. it felt like a weakness and if there was anything that life had shown her, it was that she couldn't afford to show any sort of weakness. her voice remained steady and even, never raising above a normal volume. "i had to create my own form of neutral ground using old magicks to protect myself and anyone else who seeks sanctuary just so i can have a small taste of peace. and really, can it even be called peace when i know that the moment that i step foot off of this property, there's a chance that i could be spotted by someone who wants to kill me? i just want to know what happened so that i can possibly understand why."

i know that i still owe starters from the starter call ( i'm working through them slowly, i promise! ), but the brain is doing weird vibes today so i'm just gonna go with the flow.

since this is becoming an issue with several blogs that have followed me in the last week or so, i'm going to add this to my rules under accessibility: if your blog / character information is not accessible from dash view in the form of links on a pinned post, i WILL NOT follow you. due to my bad eyesight, i rarely click off of dash view to see people's full blogs. the majority of themes are incredibly hard to read due to colors, images, and font sizes and oftentimes trigger headaches for me when i try to view them. i know that i'm not the only person in the rpc with this issue, so please please please moving forward, try to be mindful of others with these issues and have your information both easily accessible and easily readable.

please note that this is NOT a jab at one or two people. like i've said, this has happened several times on several blogs this week and i'm going to be adding this under my accessibility rule.
