TO BE BLIND & TO HOLD WILFUL IGNORANCE WERE NOT THE SAME, albeit Aether does not bother to relay this to her, instead biting his tongue. Lumine does not need to know of his inner turmoil, of the need to prove himself that has plagued him for the longest of times — even before this, he would readily cut his heart out if someone needed it because their own would no longer beat. However, this part of his nature has long since been something he kept to himself.

( they are sure she knows this about them, anyway, so there is no point in reminding her of it. )

To be a saviour means that he is worth keeping around, that he has done something in his life that makes him worthy of the praise he is given — he wonders just how long he will be this way: a person swayed by the compliments of others & a person willing to drown his own morals simply to help others, to prove that he is worthy of attention & care. The person he has been is not desirable, but he is unsure of how to break the chains of his own lacking self-worth.

Lumine has always seen Aether as someone who has never been corrupted by the world. He was far too naive, far too kind, to ever truly know the darkness of the worlds that they travel to. He saw the best in everyone, when people betrayed him, he would find a way to understand why. Lumine has never known why he was that way.

Even after their separation, Lumine would still remember her brother's kindness. No matter how much the worlds would taint him, he would still hold onto that. It is one of the few things that makes him who he is and the only thing that keeps him safe.

The words that spill from Lumine's mouth are ones of acceptance and disappointment. She knew of the path that her brother was going down. She was not blind to his naivety, nor was she ignorant of the fact that she may never see him by her side again. She knows that he is too kind, too trusting, & she fears the day that will be his undoing.
