By accepting these so called beginnings we are looking at our own histories through a shattered mirror. I challenge all of you to break free from the inaccurate definitions of Africa that have been molded by biased intellectual frameworks. Always remember that the most powerful and truthful stories told are by the natives of the land.
The fourteen years I have lived in Addis Ababa would never amount to the two weeks I spent outside of it - Here is a glimpse of how I discovered my roots in my homeland. I can't wait till the quarter ends to blog about this in further detail!

One of the reasons why I LOVE Jodhpur! Almost every other man walking in the streets wore a Pagari(turban).

The women of Sadhna.
Hard at work –picture taken at Sadhna - a development organization established in 1988 to provide alternative incomes for women in Udaipur’s rural, tribal and urban slum belts. As these communities were not dependent on agriculture, handicraft was chosen to be introduced to them. SADHNA taught Patchwork, Appliqué and Tanka embroidery skills to the women for them to earn a secure living.
If you ever get the chance to go to Udaipur, I highly suggest staying at hotel Mahendra Prakash. The rooms had a very authentic feel to them and the view from our room was phenomenal. Don't expect a good wi-fi connection though, and that goes for most of the hotels we stayed in while we were in Rajasthan.
