Reed loved a challenge, it was one of those traits she got from her dad. Today’s was quite simple, or at least to her it was, she was going to internally take apart and put back together the software that kept the school running. Was this allowed? Probably not. Did she care? Definitely not.
“The WiFi is going to be down for three hours, you can thank me later,” Reed rolled her eyes without even stopping what she was doing, “Maybe two.”

“alright, this assignment is a take home – or take back to your room one. you’re going to apply what you’ve learned here in spectrum analysis to see if you can interpret the data you’ve received and determine whether what you’re seeing is a threat, a big threat, or world ending threat, or uncle thor returning on the bifrost. get it wrong, and your defence systems will end up with some slightly crispy god of thunder… but that’s okay, it’s nothing he can’t handle.”
placing his hands on the desk, tony leaned forward and stared at the class. “questions? no? good. now scram.”
it felt like there was always someone who wanted to catch him after class, whether a student or a fellow teacher, and tony wasn’t in the least surprised to hear footsteps as he was busy shutting down lab systems. “yep?” he asked, glancing up. “assignment’s not too tough, is it?”

Liz sat on the roof, her legs dangling over the side as she watched people wandering, striding, or hurrying from one place to another. It struck her funny how few people ever looked up - even though she appreciated the fact. Not looking up meant she got away with her people-watching a lot more often. Her backpack sat open next to her, but instead of books or papers, it held the making of a small picnic. Reaching in, she pulled out the bottle of water and opened it. Hearing the scuff of a footstep, she glanced back over her shoulder. “Hope you brought your own drink,” she chuckled. “But I’ve probably got enough food to share.”

“No, that’s not what the report said,” Jane huffed into the phone. When she heard her office door open, she held up a finger to gesture for a moment. “If you’re having that much trouble with it,” she continued to the person on the line, “then perhaps you should consider rereading it.” She hung up. “Where the hell is Darcy when I need her?” she muttered. Then she turned to her office door. “May I help you?” she asked, even as she turned.

Gabi sat in the courtyard at one of the scattered tables with her books spread around her. She wanted to get some research for the essay done, but she’d gotten tired of being indoors. The day looked too gorgeous out her window for her to spend it cooped up. So she’d packed her backpack and headed out. Now, using books and small stones to keep the papers from flying off in the wind, she enjoyed the warmth as she scribbled out notes in her neat, slanting cursive. She paid no attention to her surroundings, letting the sounds and scents flow over her without concern, until someone sat down across from her. That brought her gaze up, curiosity washing through her at the interruption. “Hi?”
“dammit,” she mumbled as she tugged on her desk. she’d accidentally locked it again, and a key was nowhere to be found. honestly, elliot was positive the desk didn’t even come with a key. she reached in to her hair and pulled out a bobby pin. it was her favorite trick she learned when she a kid, and it still worked for minor things such as a locked desk. she bent the bobby pin before sticking it in the lock and twisting it around until hearing a click. with a satisfied smile, she pulled open the drawer to remove her journal. hearing footsteps, she quickly shut the door and heard the lock click again. “oldest trick in the book,” she said, turning the face them. “but i still need to keep my skills sharp. i can teach you if you want?” ( @academiastarters )
sol had just finished taking a shower when she heard footsteps, but ignored them as she was almost sure the other had only been passing by until she heard a voice and was immediately startled by it. “haven’t you ever heard of knocking?” @academiastarters

“and today, to finish off we’re going to learn more about your inner -” but before johnny could finish off he was cut off by someone hurling some sort of power/energy/flame thing. “hey! can we please watch we’re aiming?!” he was lucky he ducked just in time. a second later or two centimetres to the right and he would be sitting in an infirmary office. “now where were we?” he sighed and then looked at the clock. “you know what? all of you can just get out. we’ll pick up on friday. or next week. just depends how you all behave.” he continued to look down at his files and didn’t even see the person approaching him. “if you have questions about the class, drop me an email. anything else and you can call the fantastic four’s PR rep or something.”

frigga was caught up in the fascination of possibly using her given abilities on something or someone - watching as the magic danced on her fingertips. “i could turn you into a frog… or perhaps a deer?” she spoke to herself, smirking as she watched a passerby. “then again, my abilities would choose for me as my control isn’t quite perfect yet…” a scowl made its way to her features as she slumped back in her chosen chair in one of the common rooms. “you there, are you busy?” she pointed over at the next nearest person, smiling a bit at them. “care to have some entertainment?”

trudging out of the first espionage class where she’d been eager to give professor romanoff a good impression (come on, who wouldn’t?), mae had instead managed to bomb the practical section of the class completely when her blitzy spiderpowers had decided to act up, causing her to stick to a wall then overbalance, toppling right out from behind the stack of crates she’d been hiding behind. honestly, it was like, the worst thing, considering that the exercise had been a walk in the park up to that point.
finding a quiet section of the school, she thumped a fist against the wall and sighed, before realizing that she wasn’t alone. (damn spider senses – they never worked when she needed them to). “sorry,” she said, trying to hold back the stress in her voice. “just having a bit of a rough start to the day.”

“Hmm?” Pepper had been pulled from her own thoughts by the sound of the other’s voice, her red-colored lips parting in momentary confusion. She had essays in front of her that she wasn’t grading, one well-manicured hand resting against her cheek with the other grasped loosely at a pen. “I’m sorry, can I help you with something?”
Joe had been spending a lot of time in the training gym ever since classes had started. It was weird to be in his dorm around a couple and he wasn’t comfortable wandering around. Honestly, the only thing that felt right to him was moving. He had never realized just how much he didn’t like to stand still and how alert he was when he had to be, or even when he didn’t have to be. It was how Joseph recognized that somebody had entered the same room he was in. The male didn’t bother checking to see who it was, he’d know if they tried to attack him for some reason, but he grunted out, “I’ll be done in a minute,” assuming they wanted to use the room. A minute later, he set down the fake knife he had been messing with and grabbed a towel to wipe his face. “Sorry bout that, didn’t mean to hog the room.”

putting her whole life on pause was not something beverly enjoyed — not when she was finally on a paid internship and moving on to her masters. however, she also did not enjoy knowing her father had lied to her since she was a child and this was what had set her off into learning how to use the gifts he wanted her to neglect. looking at the academy now, the sorceress wondered whether going back in time was a mistake in spite of it all. bev was pondering distractedly on said recent changes while on a walk through the park when she accidently bumped on someone and stumbled. immediately, she told the other how so, so sorry she was. “i wasn’t paying attention; again, i’m sorry” bev added with a slight grimace.

Grayson let out a small sigh as he restlessly leaned against the wall. Grayson could feel the ancient magic inside of him want to come out…Want to fight. That was the one thing Grayson didn’t like about his blood magic abilities. The magic was volatile, and did not like being ignored for so long. Grayson’s eyes opened though as he heard someone approaching him, and he nodded his head towards them. “Sup, did you need something?”
“Yeah, no, it makes sense if you’ve heard of me. I don’t know if they have taste here in this universe, at least not like they did back home, but my mom is like really famous. She charted on Spotify and iTunes. But, like, it’s no big deal. I’m just like you, except if you put a dagger in my hand, well… I’ll never miss,” she gushed to a stranger, turning to face whoever it was that had just joined them. “So many new people to know and lover…. Or hate,” she said, a loud laugh passing her lips. “Kidding, I’m kidding. I’m Nell. Or Eleanor. Or Blare. Pleasure.”
oliver had been focused on the screen in front of him, brown eyes going from one end to the other, but it didn’t stop him from hearing as the person entered the lab. “unless you know what you’re doing, i wouldn’t suggest touching anything. you never know when arrows will fly or things will blow,” he warns in a playful tone before spinning his chair around. “unless you come bearing gifts in the form of coffee, milkshake or cheeseburger – preferably all of the above. in that case you can touch anything you want.” / @academiastarters
