hey sooooOo finals are right around the corner and I thought making a masterpost of my finals tips might be helpful to some!! (icon is from @studyblrsab, thanks!!) okay sooo lets begin!
1. Try to start at least a week early + revive your old study materials!
If you start at least a week early, it wonât be as bad as cramming!! TRY NOT TO CRAM THE NIGHT BEFORE. PLEASE.
Bring out those mind maps, study guides, flashcards, notes, etc because they are going to come in hand right now! If you do not have any of these items pre-made (which is okay), start making them to study for your final. Rewriting the information and such will help you recall it and be a form of studying in itself.
2. Identify where your weaknesses were during the semester.
Honestly, I believe that if you already know the information for a certain unit/topic, then you shouldnât spend more time studying it. So, I pinpoint my weaknesses in that subject and focus more on those than the topics I already thoroughly understand. But do what works for you!! Weâre 2 completely different people.Â
3. Create a realistic study schedule!
Iâm not gonna tell you how much you study because its not about how long, but how efficiently you retain the information. Work smarter, not harder. With that said, donât just look at a paper for 5 seconds and expect to know something after! I would aim for at least 30 minutes of study time each day. If it helps, do the Pomodoro technique with your own custom time intervals.Â
4. If you want to study on the goâŚ
Condense your notes onto index cards!! Compacting it onto an index card (or two, or three, etc) will make it easier to carry around instead of a notebook or textbook.Â
Putting it onto index cards will also supply you with the ability to memorize information in smaller chunks, as well. This tends to make it easier to learn the information in small chunks instead of one, big chunk.
5. For English/Literature classesâŚ
Make an alphabet for the books you read throughout the semester/year. Associate each letter of the alphabet with something from the book.Â
For example for Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte we did:Â
G- Gothic Literature
H- Heathcliff, Hareton + Catherine
and etc etc. Its a cool and fun way to remember the story, while also making it easy to remember!!
6. This is hard but, try to get sleep and eat well before your exams!! You cannot think when you are hungry. I know I canât. All I think about is what Iâm gonna eat after haha.Â
7. Practice self care!! Check out my self care tag and find ways to destress. Whether its exercise, writing, hanging out with friends, or just taking a nap, you also want to make sure your mental health is A1. Its okay if you donât study because you just mentally and emotionally canât. Its okaaaaay.Â
I hope these tips helped some!! Please let me know what you thought of this master post and good luck to everyone who has finals coming up! xoxo
bringing this back because its finals szn

Stay motivated - get out of potato slump                                                                  Â
Waking up in the morning and be productive isnât that easy for most people, itâs just way easier and cosy to just go back in bed!
I get why you love so much staying in bed, trust me. But itâs also true that in these uncertain times where we donât have the outside motivation of school or work, itâs very important to learn how to be productive at home.
Being productive brings you closer to achieving your goals and creating a consistent routine will help you do that quicker. Not knowing what to do all the time makes you waste so much time that could be spent actually doing things!
How to structure your morning routine effectively:
When you are creating your productive morning routine itâs important to know exactly what your goals are. Do you want to exercise and get fit? Do you want to get your homework done? Do you want to work on your blog?
You need to tailor your routine according to those goals, so donât follow other peopleâs routines just because they look good and âaestheticâ, that wonât get you anywhere with your own goals.
The first few days of trying your new routine are just a trial. If something seems off, you donât feel good or you just canât follow it, donât get discouraged! Try again the next day and if the problems persist, itâs time to make some changes to your plan!
Also, your routine doesnât necessarily have to include big tasks such as cleaning the whole house or completing an entire project, it could be composed of many little tasks such as making your bed. Putting all those little tasks into a to-do list might be helpful at first so you can check-off all the completed things and see what you were and werenât able to accomplish. It will also look longer but at the same time, less intimidating considering that those smaller tasks will take you less time! â

types of academics: tag yourself
nocturnal: messy notes, never sleeps, wakes up after noon, sarcastic, coffee addiction, turns everything in late, sweats, netflix, needs a lot of naps, deep cleans their room maybe once every 2 months, messy buns, says theyâll be productive but never is until itâs past 2 am
âperfectâ: balances work, social life, and health, never sleeps past midnight, aces everything, pretty notes, coffeeshops and libraries, cardigans, makes their bed every morning, mom friend, skincare routine, organized playlists, neat handwriting, autumn, coffee with cream and sugar
extroverted: loud but beautiful laugh, twirly handwriting, polaroids, colorful pens, skirts, wants to/does dye their hair, goes to parties but leaves early, summer, travels a lot, teacherâs pet, throws sleepover study nights, paints nails while reading for homework, leather jackets
chaotic: amazing music taste, probably good with technology, doesnât bond with professors, has few close friends but lots of acquaintances, parties a lot, never focused (but when they are theyâre really productive), really bad at reading people, cram sessions, bad sleep schedule
independent: has only one friend per class, gets everything done on time, prefers office hours over asking questions in class, rain, print-out lecture notes, one yellow highlighter, beautiful smile, the color green, painter, likes studying outside, sensitive to high-energy people, striped sweaters
