Ai sauntered up to the Dojima household her phone clutched tightly in her hand. She had received a text from Dojima himself, she suspected that Yu had given him her number, asking her to come over. She was hesitant to do so at first considering what happened the last time the had been alone together but decided to go see what he wanted.
She entered the house and took off her shoes placing them at the door noticing that only Dojima’s were there along with hers. She sighed inwardly. Just perfect.
“Dojima-san! I’m here what did you want to talk about?”
She called out before stepping into the house proper gasping when Dojima’s arms encircled her waist and he, yet again, kissed her.
Ai quickly broke the kissing struggling to get free practically fuming as she glared up at him.
“What’s wrong with you? You could get in serious trouble if I tell someone you kissed me like that! Why’d you do it?!”
Realizing this had been a dangerous decision, I release Ai and take a step back. I don’t fidget or rush to play it off. Standing tall and looking her in the eyes, I say how I feel about this whole… Mess I’ve created through my carelessness.
“This time,” I start. “I’m showing you that I’m serious.”
I move aside so that Ai can step into the house if she wants, but don’t come closer. I’ve learned a lot about body language from my line of work, and want to make it clear that leaving is an option.
She wasn’t sure what to make of his words but she stepped into the house and sighed looking at him again.
“You’re 100% serious about this? Like wanting to be with me?”
She was relieved to know he was actually thinking normally for once but was confused on why her friend’s uncle wanted to be with her romantically, especially at the cost of his job. Sure, she was 18 but he could still get shit for it by anyone who didn’t approve.
“Yes,” I quickly reply. “I’ve thought about it and—Yes.”
Walking to the couch, I turn away from Ai for a minute to let the anxious expression I’d been holding back to pass over my face. This is serious. I don’t want to seem unsure.
I take a seat on the couch and face Ai again. “This is what I want; if you’ll have me.” I clear my throat and keep my eyes on her. Part of me wants to be open and honest, but I also worry it’ll leave me too vulnerable.
—But if I want her to take me seriously, I’ll have to try.
“All the time you’ve spent here,” I say. “It makes me feel less alone. I like it—That I feel comfortable around you, and that you enjoy being around me. And I want to spend more time with you. I want to see if these feelings carry over ot other parts of my life.”
