003.   joker   suffers   from   panic   attacks   occasionally   and   they   tend   to   make   him   more   violent   and   volatile   than   a   normal   day   for   him.   he   never   spoke   of   this   aloud   with   harleen   during   any   session   and   he   was   able   to   distance   himself   from   most   telling   symptoms   of   any   panic   disorders   for   a   long   time.   while   he   is   a   chaotic   evil   who   has   no   remorse   or   care   about   the   well   being   of   others,   this   does   not   make   him   immune   to   random   and   sudden   attacks.   later   on   harley   would   be   able   to   give   a   name   to   the   symptoms   and   with   what   she   could   do,   explain   away   most   of   the   attacks   to   simple   joker   mood   swings.   harley   would   become   the   only   person   that   was   able   to   calm   the   joker   down   during   these   attacks   and   often   grounded   him   until   it   passed   with   minor   incidents   ( excluding   the   killing   of   henchmen   because   those   are   replaceable ).   because   of   harley’s   knowledge   and   ability   to   help   him   secretly   with   this,   this   is   one   of   the   reasons   that   joker   kept   her   around   for   such   a   long   time   instead   of   growing   bored   with   her   as   he’d   grown   to   somewhat   rely   on   her   during   these   sudden   and   random   attacks.

Once   upon   a   time,   Joker   may   have   wished   on   stars   like   any   other   child   would   have   but   that   was   too   long   ago   and   feels   like   an   entirely   different   person.   It’s   hard   to   say   exactly   when   he   stopped   believing   in   wishes   and   dreams,   it’s   not   as   if   he   woke   up   one   morning   and   declared   himself   grown-up   and   all   that   too   frivolous   for   him   to   care   about.   It   happened   slowly,   over   time,   until   it   was   in   the   past   and   the   only   thing   Joker   is   wishing   for   is   more   chaos   in   Gotham   City.

that   telltale   smile   stretches   across   his   narrow   face,   pulling   taut   red   lips   and   wrinkling   stark   white   skin.   “that’s   a   good   one.”   should   he   be   concerned   about   the   joke?   no,   he’s   never   concerned   when   it   comes   to   harley   or   anything   she   does   about   him.   she’ll   never   do   anything   permanently   harmful   to   him,   of   that   he’s   entirely   too   sure.

001.   the   most   common   rumor   about   why   joker’s   skin   is   white   involves   a   vat   of   chemicals   at   ace   chemicals   and   him   being   either   pushed   or   voluntarily   jumping   in   as   that   part   remains   unclear.   it’s   easy   to   see   the   physical   changes   in   the   joker   after   the   incident   ( green   hair,   stark   white   skin,   bloody   red   lips )   but   what   isn’t   so   noticeable   is   how   the   simplest   touch   feels   like   he’s   been   set   on   fire.   while   joker   has   an   incredibly   high   pain   tolerance,   almost   of   a   superhuman   level,   any   simple   skin   to   skin   touch   will   break   that   resolve   almost   instantly.   he   will   immediately   lash   out   to   the   nearest   person,   sometimes   the   one   who   touched   him   and   other   times   the   entire   room   if   more   than   one   person   is   near.      very   few   people   get   close   enough   to   the   joker   to   see   this   and   it’s   really   only   affected   with   skin   to   skin   contact,   as   anything   with   a   barrier   like   clothes   will   not   cause   this   pain   to   flair.   he   does,   however,   wear   super   soft   clothing   to   keep   it   from   being   irritating   on   his   skin.
