“I’m not dishing out lemonade for any old trick. What kind of fool do you take me for?”
“I keep forgetting you’re not a fool.”
“Maybe. It’s all still fairly new.” Cassius said, looking over the camp.
“It’s pretty fun, honest.”
“That’d be awesome, if I could do all of that. But… I don’t know, I don’t know if I could do that.”
“This is gonna sound lame, but, just believe in yourself. Cliche term, I know. But it’s true.”
“Thanks,” He said immediatly chowing down on the food, then with the last swallow remembered his manners. “I’m Jared, thanks man for the food I appreciate it.”
Acel shrugged. “It’s not a bother. So, why were you running for 12 hours?”
Nice bulls-eye. While you’re at it, make it two.
“Yeah, right. I’ll take lemonade instead.”
“I don’t know, what would I be able to do?”
“We have healing powers, we can manipulate light and we’re badass archers.”
“Well I’m sure your face doesn’t change in the morning.”
“I don’t really venture out until the afternoon, so if you wanted to see how horrendous I look in the morning, you;d have to stay the night.”
“I’m… I’m okay. It’s still weird being here. No routine yet.”
“You should try training. Lots of abilities to unlock.”
“Look I just got brought into this camp after 12 hours straight of running. I am too tired to even think, I am going to pass out if you let me sit down where can iget food?”
“Here, take this.” Acel chuckled and handed the boy half of his chicken sandwich. “I’m Acel, Apollo cabin.”
“Only because you’ve got a pretty reflection. Pleasure to meet you, Acel.”
“It’s really not that pretty. You should see me in the morning.”
“I’d really appreciate that. ‘Cause I have a job to do, you know, as your new mirror. Who happens to go by Benji.”
“And what a pretty mirror you are. I’m Acel.”
“I’m sure you’d fine a more comfortable place for me, like maybe one of those desk mirrors, though I don’t think you’d really have that much space for you to use but I’d do a great job.”
“I’ll see what I can do. I’m sure I can make room for you.”
“Oh, yes, mister, I surely do.” He laughed.
“How are you doing today anyways? Settling in okay?”
He chuckled softly, “It’s a nice offer, one I’d eagerly sign up for. Though I hope it doesn’t mean I’m literally replacing your mirror, because I’m not sure I’d enjoy being hung on a wall.”
“That’s a shame. I’d love to hang you on my wall.”
“I promise not to tell anyone.”
Acel laughed and put on a gruff joking voice, “Hey kid, wanna buy some lemonade?”
He blushed, “Thank you. Though I’m sure your mirror is luckier then I am.”
Acel laughed lightly and winked. “You’re a flatterer. Though I’m sure if you want to look at me more than my mirror does, I’d be happy to oblige.”
“That sounds wrong.”
“Yeah, I slightly sounded like a drug dealer.”
