That makes two!
tumblr has a cool new animation for pride month! when u like a post that has a specific queer identity tagged, like #pansexual, the heart will glow and then the aforementioned flag will appear!
Gotta catch em all
And stay safe everyone!
You have no idea how good it feels to run into strangers who headcanon a character as aro. In spaces where ships are taken too seriously and around friends who just don't really care all too much about aromanticism, seeing a complete random person headcanon something that I am in real life brings me so much genuine joy
what's the difference between libido and attraction
libido: body says NOW
attraction: body says THIS ONE
Oh my god I’m over here thinking its this big hard to explain thing but here you are explaining it perfectly in nine words wtf
Hello, fellow fandom-obsessed creatives! Please join us for the 11th edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek in what is officially our tenth year holding this event!
Every year, #AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW) is an occasion to promote the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators. For an entire week, people on the aromantic spectrum celebrate their experiences through fandom and art.
For this event, “fancontent” means any creation related to a fandom, whether it’s a headcanon, a piece of meta, fanfic, fanart, a playlist,… All fandoms are welcome!
The content created for this event should center a character’s arospec identity (this can be a canon identity or a headcanon).
We only accept entries from creators who identify as being on the aromantic spectrum or who are questioning whether they might be.
This event is an opportunity for creators to explore their identities through fanwork within a supportive community. It’s also a perfect way for fans of all kinds (arospec or not) to enjoy art and have fun!
Join us from June 21 to June 27 2026 for an explosion of arospec fancontent on your dash!
To submit content to the event, please make a new post between June 21 and June 27 and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek. You can also submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be shared on the Aggressively Arospec blog.
A collection will also be opened on Archive of Our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there. Just search for “Aggressively Arospec Week ‘26” in the “Post to collections” tab when you’re posting on AO3.
Help us make this year's edition another success! We’ve only come this far through your support and creativity.
Please, take a second to share this post so your followers get to join in the fun as well 💚
(For more information, check out our “About” page or our FAQ section. You can also check last year's FAQ if there's anything else you'd like to know. If you need some inspiration, you can also check out all previous submissions in our #AggressivelyArospecWeek tag.)
The first LGBT group I ever joined asked me to leave because they didn’t consider asexual to count as queer. It wasn’t visible enough to them. And more than that, they were concerned that I was a CisHet man only using the label of asexual to sneak into what was meant to be a safe space
Now that I’m out and transitioned, I still run up against this suspicion that I’m just infiltrating spaces and making them dangerous for the people they’re meant to protect
I’m tired of being seen as a predator when I’m just trying to exist

everyone's all about queer subtext until it's aromantic or asexual
I never thought about it this way but YES! I used to read about historic figures things like "She was always writing letters to her best friend and she never married. Clearly she was a lesbian," and it always made me sad because I was always writing letters to MY best friends and never married, but I'm just aroace and really love friendship. Couldn't some of those historic singletons have been like me? But if I mentioned the possibility, usually another queer person would snap at me about how they deserved to find representation where they could. I get that, but if it a historic person's sexuality is completely unknown, can't we share the imagined representation between us? We can both claim Schrödinger's sexuality for that dead person.
official aromantic post
Asexual here. We're finally getting some media representatives, and they (LGBTQIA+) members get mad that we're "not a real member" and "why are they representing asexuals in media" Like dude, chill, there's enough media for representatives for everyone.
Reblogging because to signal boost and because I myself am somewhere on the asexual spectrum and agree with this message.
Don't get me wrong, I like my romance. But not everyone needs or wants to be in a relationship, sexual or romantic, both in real life and in media.
Did a genuine double-take at a "used to like me" recently, so you know the drill
We really gotta stop acting like people on different parts of the asexual spectrum have nothing in common.
I'm in a QPR with an ace person, and I won't go into detail about it, but we are on two very different parts of the asexual spectrum. Along with the massive differences, we still have a million things in common when it comes to being asexual. We often talk about being ace since as far as I know we don't have a lot of other ace friends so we mostly have each other to talk about this sort of thing, and the fact that we're not on the same part of the spectrum has never meant that we couldn't relate to each other's experiences. We even learned about ourselves through understanding each other!
It's a big spectrum, you'll have a bunch of people who experience something completely differently from you, but I can guarantee that those people still have something in common with you.
I'm noticing a subtle shift in fandom where people seem a lot more accepting of asexual/aromantic/aroace headcanons and it really makes me happy. it was so common years ago for everyone to get viciously angry whenever you tried to make an aroace headcanon because they saw it as offensive in every way under the sun and it just. hurt me so much. but in the past few years I've noticed that those headcanons are more prevalent in fandoms and even sometimes they'll be the most mainstream headcanon for a certain character and there's very rarely discourse about it and it kind of makes me want to cry (happy)
Also people useing ace micro lables correctly fills my heart with joy.
would love to be able to find aroallo content, hell even just aromantic content, without ace and aroace stuff flooding my feed. like bro that’s not what I ordered
aromantic nation, how do we feel?
