stop telling transmascs that terfs harrassing them is their fault. why the fuck did i just see a post imploring trans men to "examine why terfs feel comfortable" intruding in their spaces. It's because they're transphobic and have no respect for trans men's boundaries. How do you still not know this. fucking hell
people seem to assume that terfs have some unique ability to sniff out transmasc evil. That is not based in reality and frankly it gives terfs an absurd amount of power over transmascs within the trans community. what terfs are actually going off of in trying to approach transmascs isn't some unerring transmisogyny meter; it's gender stereotypes. If a transmasc matches their idea of a woman, they attempt recruitment. If not, they turn hostile.
So what are transmascs doing to make terfs think they're good targets?
Expressing emotion. Discussing oppression. Venting about transphobia. Asking for support. Showing vulnerability.
Transmascs, especially trans men, are required to perform an extreme version of stoic self-sufficient masculinity under penalty of ostracisation. Any failure to project complete invulnerability will be taken advantage of by transphobes. And by treating said transphobes as unfailing traitor detectors, the trans community enable and encourage this behavior. Terfs are shown that the transmascs they harrass will not only see no support from the wider community, but be actively pushed away from it.
Lmao no it's because trans men who regurgitate transandrophobia rhetoric are easy to recruit into terfism lmao. When you get down to it there are two forms of transandrophobia: one that expresses manhood as the ultimate cause for transmascs woes and one that expresses biology and therefore perceived femaleness as the root cause. The latter already are one foot in terf ideology, so why wouldn't they try to push the other foot in too?
To argue this unironically presupposes two things:
Terfs respect trans womens boundaries which is why they don't go into their spaces.
The LGBT community as a whole loves when trans women do any of these things and never ostracises or mocks them for being overly emotional, "irrational" or expressing themselves in a way that is not toned down and suppressed.
Both of these are obviously incorrect. So maybe there's a difference in the way terfs view transfems and tme trans people. Maybe the root of that difference is because their entire political project revolves around the hatred of one specific group. Maybe anyone else in the crosshairs is residual or something, which allows them to ally with said other groups if they find it politically expedient or have some kind of overlap between their ideology that can be exploited?
Who knows though.
... so you came on a post that didn't even mention tranfems to make shit up about what it must say about transfems. just wall to wall brand new sentences
except it wasn’t it pointed out very clearly that your analysis doesn’t work because you seem to think that terfs are more damaging to transmascs then transfems and trying to claim that misandry exists in an androcentric society while simultaneously missing the point of terfs and what they do
... do you genuinely think you can win an argument by just making up what your opponent believes? like if that's the strategy we're going with I might as well decide that you think the earth is ruled by invisible beavers. this is silly
no, that’s what you believe and that’s why you made this post because if you had a real understanding about of how transmisogyny works we wouldn’t be here 👍
im not arguing with someone who thinks the earth is ruled by beavers

i love your blog. you are a good person /genuine
Thank you, I love the bird, if you ever wanna send me any more, i'll always appreciate them! <3
someone who isn’t a trans man: transphobes pity trans men, they don’t call you predators or accuse you of going after kids!
transphobes seeing a trans man literally just breastfeeding his own child:
(the truth is, they think we’re all disgusting. they think we’re all horrible predators who deserve to be locked up or dead. any claims they make of caring about us are lies — it’s nothing more than a cover story.
if this kind of vitriol being targeted directly at a trans man doesn’t fit into your understanding of how transphobia works, it’s time to update your understanding.)
Why wouldn't be pride open to Jews? Like.... who the hell even care if you're Jew??? It's not always all about you geez
goy moment.
-Chicago Dyke March kicks out three Jewish women for having a rainbow flag with a Star of David
-DC Dyke March outright bans the Jewish Pride flag
"Who cares if you're Jews?"
Oh, just the people assaulting and attacking us. You know, the folks ensuring that attacks on Jews make up more than half of all religious-based hate crimes.
Antisemitism in the queer community is real and must be confronted. The anon here is a dumbshit.
But those events aren't as cut and dry as some think. The decision wasn't to ban Jewish flags, it's to ban Israeli flags.
Israel is brutally occupying Palestinian land and unfortunately, it uses the star of David on its national flag. Folks (including Jewish people) who are sensitive to the fact that this flag is a symbol of oppression understand that it has the potential to make Palestinian people feel unsafe and unwelcome.
This puts events that want to welcome everyone in a hard place. I don't know that banning rainbow flags with a star of David is the right move. In articles about these incidents, they show pictures of rainbow flags that have a white star. From what i remember when the Chicago incident happened, the flags were reported to have blue stars of David on them, which makes it seem more like an Israeli pride flag than a Jewish pride flag. Similar concerns were voiced by a Jewish marshal at a DC pride, though she focused on the placement of the star, not the color (this article actually has pictures of the flags at that DC march).
I feel like it's important to point out that these articles are from 2017 (Chicago) and 2019 (DC). Chicago dyke march's Facebook came under fire in 2021 for posting a political cartoon that showed someone burning American and Israeli flags while standing on a cop car that said ACAB. that's very clearly about Israel as an oppressive government, and not antisemitic. I emailed the DC dyke march to see if they still ban Israeli pride flags, but considering that nobody's reported on it since then, they probably don't. Which probably means they considered the feedback and decided it did more harm to ban the flags than good.
So they were trying to do the right thing when faced with the comfort and safety of diverse groups of people, i would say they went too far, and they changed their mind. It would be nice if they could have spoken to the decision more (or if they have, it's buried under articles about them fucking up so i can't find it).
I also want to add that second article is from the anti-defamation league, a right-wing, pro-cop organization that labels anything pro-palestinian as antisemitic. A lot of the articles about both events take their information from the ADL.
Again, antisemitism in the queer community is real. But pointing at attemps to be anti-zionist and calling it antisemitism is disingenuous and furthers the cause of the right-wing.
this wasn’t antizionism, this was antisemitism.
they didn’t ban israeli flags. they banned any flag with the star of david on it. y’all need to stop making excuses for antisemitic incidents and just claiming anything that has to do with israel must just be antizionism. news flash y’all! antizionists can be antisemitic. and in this case, they absolutely were.
ah yes the people trying to explain why banning all flags with THE symbol of the jewish people from a pride event bc of antisemitic biases and dual loyalty are actually just trying to demonize the dykes. that’s definitely what’s happening. fuck all of u lmao.
also can we talk abt how the anti-queer crowd's blogs are always like. same perfectly curated Cool™ aesthetique and humor and also that these blogs are often like indistinguishable from how terfs curate their blogs. like regardless of identity its that "thin white girl who reblogs the same photosets of 10 thin cishet blonde white women covered in blood whos vaguely pro-trans but has clear radfem vibes that keep you on edge around them, who talk about love and caring for others but also would clearly tell you to jump off a cliff if you did something slightly "cringe" around them" energy. i was around far too many Cool Girls Who Lowkey Bully You For Being Gay and Autistic But Wanna Be Seen As Sweet in public school to not develop an internal alarm system. do yall know what im talking about.
thanks to this person for modeling for me
The fact that these folks are SO often like "omg uwu queer is a SLUR don't use it and NEVER call other people queer!"
And then they're straight up like "I'm going to call anyone I don't like a faggot" like...
Really just out here admitting that they're straight-up just queerphobes. Homophobes. Their whole thing is that they can dictate who belongs and who uses what words and THEY can use slurs. But those of us they deem too "weird" don't get to use words we want, let alone be part of what they see as their community.
Anyway.
It's Pride month. I am queer. I love it. If you don't like that?
Fuck off into the sun.
Remember that period of tumblr where people aggressively hated asexuals for no reason
yeah i mean i used to be one of them. i maintain i never hated asexuals though
i think it’s wild to look back on because its so painfully clear that those of us being like, SO adamantly against asexuals being included in the queer community simply had no real experience ever and like BADLY needed to go outside
i have a friend at work who is asexual/possibly heteroromantic and i would call her LGBTQ before literally any straight person. i feel comfortable chatting with her about LGBTQ stuff because honestly it doesn’t feel like chatting with a cishet about the same stuff. she just feels like part of the community idk
there is no rulebook literally no one is harmed by ace people wanting to feel included
and now that i certifiably Go Outside i can look back and roll my eyes at some of the highly dramatic shit i used to say and think about it
An archive for instances of violence against transmasculine people
I've put together a carrd to keep a running list of violent acts done against transmasculine people.
This list is extremely emotionally taxing to read but if you feel like you are in a place to do it, I would recommend giving it a look. I feel like its important to familiarize ourselves with violence against transmasculine people and the ways in which it is expressed, as well as remembering the names of those who have been victims of it- especially those who have been killed.
I don't want any more erasure of our suffering if I can help it. When people think of the fact that they don't hear much about violence against transmasculine people, they shouldn't interpret that as peaceful silence; it should be terrifying. It's the silence of a gag.
