Hey so you know how people always talk about transmasc erasure? Coming across that paper on Tumblr discourse on transandrophobia reminded me of something.
When I was doing my criminology degree, I went to several professors with several thesis ideas, and all of them were denied. These were all ideas based on transmasculine crime and victimology stats. Every professor shot down every thesis I had on ideas related to transmasc victims of various crimes.
Their reasoning? There's no need for this. This is useless. Nobody is interested in reading about trans men and transmascs being victims of crimes. They wouldn't even let me do my thesis on estimating more accurate stats on transmasculine victims of homicide. Which is an INCREDIBLY important thing!
So yeah. Next time someone talks about how trans men and transmascs aren't victims as much, remember this. Researchers don't want to research this. They won't allow people who want to do so, to do so. I couldn't get anyone to advise me on these papers.
“If men could get pregnant, abortion would be free” men CAN get pregnant and they’re treated worse than women who can get pregnant
oh folks really don't like being asked to consider trans men
If you love looking at/reading mpreg and male characters with vaginas, then you’re attracted to trans men. If you love gooning to trans men in fiction but you wouldn’t date a trans man in real life then you’re transphobic. Fuck you. I hate people who love our bodies but not us. You’re fucking gross.
Important additions, I feel.
I fear many of us are forgetting that trans men belong to Men (the gender) but not Men (the sociopolitical class) and I think thats an important distinction
everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly you’re “taking things too seriously” and you “don’t have a sense of humour” like i’m sorry but saying protect the dolls doesn’t make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless you’re actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
“Only women can—” nope. “But all men—” nah. “The divine femininity of—” gonna stop you right there. “Everyone born ama—” if you finish that sentence I’ll kill you. “Men don’t experience—” you’re wrong. “Gender isn’t real but sex is imm—” *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently can’t be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. “All men including trans men—” probably not. “This is only a woman’s issue—” is it really? “Afabs only—” why? “All trans men are like—” what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.
I think this pride month we should all get normal about trans men/mascs with long hair
The perfect daughter
when we "lose" a cis butch woman because he becomes a trans man or masc you should actually say such things as yay, yippee, or hooray.
i identified as a butch for a bit! I changed my mind because in my case it was me trying to avoid wanting to be something I wasn't sure I COULD be! did you "lose" something when I, a trans woman, decided to present more femme?
if every cis butch woman in the world became a trans man right now, that would be an unambiguously, inarguably good and positive thing, because that would be people choosing to live the lives they wanted as the kinds of people they wanted to be, end of statement. personal autonomy isn't something to bitch over!
EPIC TBOY MOMENT: Ash Perez of the Try Guys spotted in recent video wearing a t-shirt from the transmasc-owned PUSSYBOY APPAREL that says "PUSSYBOY: Highway to Euphoria"
also he was very funny in the video overall but because of this part now i cannot stop saying "is this a circle jerk?"
he also has a series called New Guy Tries of him exploring boy/manhood! he came out fairly recently & was also at Buzzfeed so a lot of his public career was pre transition. its nice to seem him having fun being a trans guy thank you god for hot funny trans men
Because testosterone is already a controlled substance and thus the posession of it as DIY HRT is already illegal. Trans men and transmascs have been talking about this for literal years. This is such a bizarre kneejerk, because instead of simply talking about how horrible the attempt to criminalize DIY estrogen is OP here immedeatly decides to make this about trans men and transmascs being less opressed.
Ooooh, publicly embarrassing yourself.
Imagine presenting yourself as a Definitive Voice about Trans people and not knowing that basic fact about testosterone
Easy to make dog shit theories about topics you're completely ignorant about.
if you bring up omegaverse or mpreg when trans and intersex men try to have discussions about pregnancy you owe every trans and intersex man everything you own
Today, the UK government accepted guidance which excludes trans people from single sex spaces.
This is a change to the interpretation and implementation of the equalities act which legally prevents any trans person from using the correct changing rooms, toilets, or even attending gym classes.
It’s more than a bathroom ban. It’s something that will prevent us living our lives.
And, as it stands, the guidance is markedly worse for trans men than it is for trans women.
Taken from page 268 of the pdf linked above:
This guidance sets out, in a legally binding code, that trans men can be barred from both men’s and women’s facilities.
While it does go on to say that preventing us from accessing any services might be grounds for a discrimination claim, that’s in direct contradiction to the paragraphs shown above, and right now is purely hypothetical until tested in a court of law.
As the news of the government’s decision to enforce this guidance spreads, a lot is going to be said about the impact on trans women. That’s good, a lot needs to be said.
I doubt, though, that as much will be said about the impact on trans men. I doubt it because when this guidance was first released as a draft I saw dozens of not hundreds of comments talking about how the only impact was to trans women, joking that trans men should use the women’s toilets to make transphobes uncomfortable.
Please don’t fall into that pattern this time, not now this is really happening.
Protect trans women, please, but I am begging you, protect trans men, too.
This guidance systematically erases us from public life. It is deliberate. We are not collateral damage, we are the target.
Think of us in your anger.
*doom music starts to play* I actually kindof like scheduling these kinds of appointments now...
but seriously Fellas, don't forget to schedule a pap smear every couple of years just in case. If you still have a cervix you can still get cervical cancer. ilu
this has been a psa
i've had this as an idea since 2017 btw
damn, tumblr says my art is ass and trans people is eye strain so no blaze for me :\
it'd be a shame if this...
blazed the old fashion way...

Malgendering.
"Why there isn't more trans men in history, contributing to queer advancements?" damn I wonder why people who were previously women that were forced into marriages and into being property either of their fathers or husbands would have a hard time coming out as a trans man. Truly a mystery. Oh wait you're also telling me people that lived their whole lives as men but were outed after they died are actually lesbians that did that to scape sexism? That's so cool. What more are you wrong about.
saw a post like "tmras will insist joan of arc was a transmasc but not even realize that is proof that masculinity is rewarded because joan of arc is celebrated and ascended to sainthood"
and i just googled real quick,
what good is becoming a saint and being celebrated for your GIRL POWER hundreds of years posthumously if during your life you are abused and murdered by the state in one of the most gruesome and painful ways imaginable because you dressed as a man? I wouldnt call that society "rewarding masculinity" in people who are afab.
Importantly, she was burned at the stake for dressing like a man.
