i think the nolan's odyssey can be summarize by its line "its the end of our bronze age". they talk about their present as "bronze age". This is the proof that nolan doesnt only dgaf about greece and the ancient texts (which would already be way enough to ruin everything), but he also dgaf about history in general.

Im not a fan of epic the musical, but i have way more respect for it just bc it actually is a passion project. jorge called it "epic" (which is way more humble than the fucking odyssey) and publied it on tiktok. it is extremly comunity driven (animatics...) and despite the innacuracies you can feel that the guy actually loves (his versions of) the story and characters.

However nolan just wanted to make a big movie. so he took big actors, a big camera, big budget, and he picked a big story. its not only innacurate to the story of the odyssey. there isnt a single effort made to be even slighlty historically accurate

everyone i've talked to about this has been completely unaware so: if you didn't know already, there's going to be a solar eclipse, with totality or coverage of 90% or more in some places, over a lot of europe, on august 12th 2026. in the uk it will start just after 6pm, and the maximum will be at 7:13pm.
