discourse in this fandom so exhausting. yes, greek myth is important to greek culture, no that does not mean everything must be interpreted solely through that lens all the time. participating in the tradition of retelling these stories and reimagining them in different contexts is not somehow tainting the original myths. enjoying the research and academic discussion aspect of the classics community and/or gearing more towards the fanart/fanfic part of it are both fine, you are allowed to be as serious/not serious about it as you want. you are also allowed to not like some of the stuff that your mutuals/mutuals-in-law are posting about but im tired of the vagueposting. sometimes not even vagueposting sometimes outright callouts. if you come to fandom to pick a fight i will happily internet slapfight with you all day if it means you will stop posting about people that are just trying to chillax in their communities.
