Let’s learn some Korean. I decided to go through my students books from the very first one to learn Korean, I’ve been here a while and I’ve picked a lot up, enough to get by and do what I need but not enough to have a conversation. I’ve never actually sat down to learn so here we go! #korean #korea #seoul (at Seoul, Korea)
Volunteer with North Korean Refugee Kids in Seoul
Hey people and followers living in the Seoul area! I wouldn’t normally do this on my personal tumblr but hey, I know a lot of you are really wonderful people so I know you’ll understand. As well as teaching at a public school, some of you may know I’m the volunteer coordinator at Kuensaem School for North Korean refugees. I’m posting here because we really need more volunteers! We teach elementary and middle school students. They’re a really cool bunch and I love teaching them. The thing is, I can’t teach all of them and volunteer numbers are super low since a few teachers left to return to their home countries. We have no curriculum so you’re free to get to know the students and decide what you’ll teach each week. I can also provide lesson plans, games and activities if you like. We also have loads of textbooks on site too! Anyway, here is some more information: Who: Kuensaem School for North Korean Refugees: English Outreach Program What: Interactive English tutoring with children Where: Seoul, Gangnam-gu When: Every Saturday, 12:30-3pm We are looking for serious and long-term (at least 6 months) volunteers who are willing to commit to at least two Saturdays a month. This commitment allows volunteers to build rapport with the students, but your commitment is also vital to helping us maintain the quality of the English program. If you are interested in volunteering with Kuensaem, send me an email at [email protected] www.facebook.com/KuensaemEnglish ALSO PLEASE HELP ME OUT AND SHARE THIS POST IF YOU HAVE FOLLOWERS IN KOREA!
It’s autumn again.
Hey, I stumbled upon your blog from the k-is4korean website while searching for tips on how to learn Korean. I'm a college student from America and I've always found other cultures fascinating, and I think your pictures help open the door to that brand new world!
Wow, cool, thanks for the message! Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately, I’ll be back soon.
I started Brazilian jiu-jitsu a few months ago. I’m still getting destroyed by everyone but I’m making progress. So far it’s been a great way to meet people in Korea. Also as I’m the only foreigner there, it’s helped me learn a lot of Korean.
It’s difficult to look cool and attractive when you’re in the queue at Homeplus with only a plunger.
