FTH 2026 coming soon!

Yes, time once again to begin ramping up for our annual auction! This will be our tenth (!!!) year of mobilizing the power of fandom to make donations to vital progressive causes.

It's been a difficult year -- most of us are worn down and scared. But there have been some things worth celebrating, too. SCOTUS might be selling us out, but lower courts are consistently ruling against the Trump administration, throwing up meaningful roadblocks to his agenda and vendettas. In both New York City and Seattle, committed on-the-ground organizing helped two progressive mayoral candidates to victory, opening up new possibilities for those cities and inspiring progressives around the world. And all across the US -- especially in those cities that faced targeted violence from the government -- people stepped up to take care of their neighbors: with courage, love, community spirit, and in some cases a good dash of silliness.

In other words: it's not over yet. Not even close. We can't fix it by ourselves, but we can show up to support others who are doing the work, and show up for one another at the same time.

We'll be announcing the FTH 2026 auction calendar and supported orgs list soon. In the meantime, if there's a fandom you think we should be adding to our signup sheet this year, let us know in replies! (Yes, we have already added KPop Demon Hunters and Heated Rivalry.) As always, you'll be able to sign up in literally any fandom you want, but being listed in the dropdown menu makes the logistics of signing up a little smoother.

The auction-tracking spreadsheet we shared last year will not work for this year's auctions, but here is an updated version! Make your own copy of the '2025 FTH Watchlist Template' and replace the example auction info with the details of the offers you want to track. Copy and paste the formula that checks the auctions for bid data into as many rows as you need.

Unfortunately, notifications are NOT working for individual auctions this year, so please check those bid sheets regularly.

But then suddenly the worst possible thing happened in November and we now live in a dumpster fire so I decided I need to do what I can, when I can, and writing fic is a thing I can do that can tangibly assist an organization in need.

I'm offering a fic of at least 10K (but if you know my fic you know I never stop at 10K 😅). I'm willing to write for any fandom in my portfolios (teeelsie and acronsontheground).

Please can I have 30 seconds of you time?

I don't usually get super political here--this is my stress-relief space bc my day job has enough pollical bullshit. BUT.

If you're American and you (or anyone you know or care about) have been affected AT ALL by the current administration (which is only 2 weeks in, jfc), contact (email, phone, letter) your representative and senator, NOW, and tell them how you've been affected. Tell them you didn't vote for THIS. You don't have to tell them whether you voted for them or the president, all you have to do is say, "you represent me, and I don't like this. This is making my life (or someone I care about) worse bc xxxx." Don't attack them, don't be rude, don't swear. Be polite and tell them you are affected and how and how it's hurting you, whether it's the freeze on federal grants and loans, the gutting of the Dept of Education, the mass deportations, the pressure on federal employees to quit/retire, just the general fear for the future, or whatever. Just let them know you think it's bad and it's making your life worse.

In my job I have contact with elected officials at all levels of government (not all the time, but enough that I'm familiar with how things work) and I promise you, it does not take a lot of calls/emails/letters for them to stop and consider, because too few people bother. If enough voices start making noise, it WILL make a difference.

Fandom Trumps Hate 2025 Calendar

We're back, folks! FTH is back for be our ninth (!) auction, and there's lots of good work to be done. (What is Fandom Trumps Hate?)

In this post you'll find the calendar for the 2025 auction, along with links to some useful information, including this year's list of supported organizations. (All of these same links can be found in our masthead, but since that's not visible on mobile we wanted to make them easy to find elsewhere.) You'll also find dates for our Crafts Bazaar. (wait, the what? Read more at our 2024 Crafts Bazaar page.)

Here is this year's list of supported organizations. We'll be posting more detailed profiles of each of them over the coming weeks. We also encourage you to look at the Auction FAQ (which has lots of useful information for people thinking about signing up as creators, as well as dedicated sections on bidding and on nonprofit orgs.) If you're raring to go, you can look at our bidding policies.

Lastly, in a couple of weeks we'll be kicking off our newly-revived offscreen activism blog @fthaction. Why not give it a follow?

FTH2025 Auction Calendar

Monday, January 20th: creator signups open for both the auction and the crafts bazaar

Sunday, February 2nd: creator signups close

Friday, February 21st: browsing period begins, crafts bazaar announcement goes live

Tuesday, February 25th, 8am ET: bidding opens

Saturday, March 1st, 8pm ET: auction bidding closes

Monday, March 10th: craft stalls close

Wednesday, March 12: proof of donations due

...and if you're thinking the gap between the end of signups and the beginning of browsing period looks long: we have also noticed this! In order to accommodate some back-end changes that will help the auction run more smoothly, we've given ourselves an extra week to get ourselves set up. We've also got some stuff in the works to occupy that time -- we'll say more about that when the time arrives.

Together, we're going to make sure that there is at least one (1) good thing in the world with the number 2025 attached to it.
