so i wanted to make a collection of things for personal reference and i figured i’d just make it into a masterpost bc maybe some other people could use it so yeah (please ignore the shitty little “graphic” thing i rushed im sorry)

My 9 year old little brother walked in while i was doodling this and asked “Whats that sissy?” So i turned my paper to show him and told him “It says Leelah” he nods and says “oh…who’s that?” Being the curious little brother i know and love i told him “Leelah was a beautiful girl who lived in ohio (we live in michigan so it rather close to home) that committed suicide a few days ago” before i could continue his face dropped. Although hes 9 he knows what suicide is because when he was 3 he walked in on me attempting and has been anti suicide since. He raised his eyebrow and asked “why” i took a breath and said “well… Leelah was born a boy. Like you. But on the inside she knew she was ment to be a girl and wanted to change the outside to match. But her parents wouldnt let her and were very mean to her. She felt like her life could never get any better because she would never be able to be her true self due to her parents rejection.” At this point he gets pretty angry and goes “wow thats really stupid her parent should have just let her be a girl.” I nodded and responded “yea i know. Before she passed though she said she wanted her death to mean something so a bunch of people are banning together to keep her name alive and this is my contrabution.” He looks at my drawing again and smiles “good. Thats a nice picture i hope she would have liked it if she ever saw it” and walked away.

i hope she would have too. Even though im not done yet. I just had to share.
