Whiskey Audition, YOU MADE IT!!
Character you wish: Whiskey (aka Doctor Saunders 2.0)
Storyline: For this sample? Or for an arc....? That really would depend on the other cast members.
Sample of writing: Topher watched as Whiskey’s chair folded back to a seated position. Her eyes moved for a moment beneath her eyelids, then opened. Glancing around the room, she squinted. “Where’re my glasses?” Her Imprint’s soft southern accent was barely perceptible. “Oh! Right. Er...” Topher turned and shuffled through one of the drawrds behind him, selecting the pair picked out just for... who? He checked the sheet. Winifred, that was the Imprint. “Here you go, Winnie,” he offered the glasses and made to turn back to his computer screens, his job done. <s>Whiskey</s> Winifred gave him a peeved look. “It’s FRED, actually.” Her handler held out his arm. “Come on Miss Burkle, we have some work to do before we can get you to class.” Fred’s eyes lit up. “That’s today? Oh but-but I’m not ready for that,” she added, nervously glancing at her... pajama bottoms? Yoga pants? The handler interrupted her worry, gently pushing her to the elevator. “We’ve got a full wardrobe for you downstairs. And plenty of makeup.”Fred’s mouth twisted uncomfortably. “I don’t like makeup...” she said quietly, waching Topher’s screens as the elevator doors closed. Topher put a hand to his face, shaking his head. How many times did he have to tell the handlers that they should at least skim through the Imprint’s personality information? “But no,” he said to himself, his fingers busy at the keyboard. “Avoiding confusing the dolls would make things too easy.”
(The Imprint is based on Amy Acker’s character Winifred Burkle from Angel)
Why you wish to be this character: Amy Acker is a fantastic actress for one thing, and I absolutely love the character of Doctor Saunders. Her entire dilemma of existence is intriguing, as well as her relationship with Topher Brink. It’s also worth noting that Whiskey is one of the Doll’s whose ‘real’ identity we know nothing about.
Have you seen Dollhouse/Did you like it?: I LOVE the Dollhouse. I’ve watched both seasons, and most of the episodes more than once.
Dr. Saunders: One good sneeze could bring on a seizure.
Topher : Or even worse, a sneezure.
Doc/Whiskey: “Just... trying to be my best.”
Doc/Whiskey: “Why shouldn’t I love you? Aren’t you loveable? Aren’t you big brother? Aren’t you the Lord my God?”
Doc:Whiskey: "How do I live...? How do I go through my day, knowing everything I think comes from something I can't abide?"
