The Many Sounds of Wolves

Came across this video and wanted to post it to show that wolves can make all kinds of silly sounds. Not just barks or howls or growls. Their vocals can even sound similar to foxes or coyotes, especially when they're playing around.

If your partner cringes at you, is embarrassed, tells you not to be yourself, or otherwise is not cool with you being openly nonhuman or beastly, leave them. Genuinely. You will find somebody who will not only tolerate these aspects, but adore you for them in their entirety.

When we go to the park with our handler, we often get to shift a bit, running quadrupedally, making yips, rolling in grass. They encourage us and pet us, playing into our nips and snarls. He alerts us when people are approaching, but only for our anxiety. If we don't freeze up, they gladly continue to play with and care for us, ignoring the stares. He is not ashamed, they love that we are a canine, he encourages us to be ourselves. Each time this happens a surge of warmth and gratefulness beams through us. Everybody deserves access to this support and love.
