There was something so perfectly satisfying about Zaeth getting out of trouble not by dodging responsibility like always but by owning it, by saying “this was my choice and I had the right to make it, because this is my fucking town.”
"Why does this feel so bad?"
My tears sting. Why does it feel so bad, LaVonte?
He says he wants to build something in Purpee with HJ. He doesn't want fucking Austin. HJ doesn't want to build something in that way anymore. He just wants things to be easier. He wants to place his feet in running water. LaVonte knows that and still, it feels so bad. He doesn't have to stay in Purpee. But still, it feels so bad.
Because what he wants is to be with HJ. In 439 years, that's still what he wants. Having support is not the same as having a partner. Having his partner.
I'm officially attracted to Nancy Danderhoof <33
I'm actually obsessed with the way Zaeth defended and stook up for everyone in the Coterie. When he spoke about Bat Child even though they had all made fun of her. "She's working on it." was so full of love. His sire said "your only job is to stay on top of the wheel" and Zaeth went "What if you want to kind of decorate the wheel and get your buds on the wheel? And kind of run at the same pace?" They're his buds. He wants them to be okay and succeed in whatever way matters to them. They're family. <3
Thinking of Madelaine's power and privilege.
To mortal perceptions, she presents as a beautiful white girl and the enamoration folks have with her beauty and white feminity is part of her ability to charm and enthrall. While being underestimated, they let her in to their secrets and scheming, they let their guard down.
But the Camarilla know she's a centuries-old vampire and yet she often plays the "I'm so smol" game to weaponize that white feminity and distance herself from others without facing the wrath of the Camarilla. This is clear in how other members of the coterie: LaVonte, Darkness Man, and Bat Child (outcasts and liabilities) in particular are treated in contrast to her.
Because as a Camarilla vampire, that for Madelaine is also her age and with that age comes superiority, being prioritized, being the one that can leave if any of them do. But age and being older also means knowing the "back in my days", knowing the Camarilla seeks to control and not shake things up. And for Madelaine to have been a Camarilla vampire for this long, means benefitting from and continuing those aims of the Camarilla for centuries.
And now, with her power and privilege, she is forced to choose whether to maintain those aims and repay her owed favor to Hermaine by giving her the data center, or express the autonomy that she does have to prevent that bad thing from happening.
She is not fragile, she is not just a girl, she's a white centuries old vampire, and as many times before, has a decision to make.
Didn't love the Epstein files being used as a joke on the new game changer season pilot :/
I love Kimiko because I love a character that is originally characterized by their brute force and strength. I love a character that is a human weapon, who was forced to carry out violence. Who got very good at doing so. A guard dog, an animal. Who has to learn who they really are, and that the person they were made to be is not them. I feel like I rarely see women get to play that character with as much nuance as she does. Her violence doesn't feel sexualized. It feels like the exploitation and the conditioning is what colors all of her violent actions. I love Kimiko so much.
my @d20exchange gift for @cryptidcaptain of fig and ayda’s iconic first kiss!

Everyone look at what my beautiful boyfriend made me. I have no words.

the way that kristen applebees is so comfortable with her friends is so near and dear to me. like objectively yeah, her kissing her friends, getting pretty much naked, and having no boundaries is just silly and part of the bit. but also. she grew up in such a repressive culture where she couldn’t do those things. and now she’s out of there and she feels safe around her friends, she can unlearn that repression. she cares and feels safe and loves them and i think about it a lot.
a lot of good quotes from Brennan in this video, as always, but this one really got me.
be cheesy, romanticize your life, whatever, life is short and it's cool to just love stuff
If you ever feel bad, find some Brennan Lee Mulligan whatever and watch it. It will soothe your soul
kristen applebees second death makes me insane simply because of how violent and horrifying it was. she’s trying to reach out to a dead god, she has so much hope, and she’s speared through the heart and for a few moments her very history is rewritten
i love the way zac ends interactions with NPCs
One of my favorite things about Olethra in Cloudward Ho is that it was established in episode one that she’s trans and it’s never really brought up again. Her story didn’t need to come back to her gender. No one needed to question it or make it relevant to the plot at any point. She’s just trans. She’s a trans woman on an adventure. It’s as relevant to the plot at as the fact that Van is tall or Monty is black. It just is.
I think about this a lot and I love it so much. But also. I’m half convinced this was Beardsley trying to fill out their Pokédex of DnD character genders.
They’ve played cis men, cis women, a trans man, an enby, a very sexy manly man that gets isekai’d into the body of a very sexy womanly woman. They really only had a trans woman left for a Bingo. I’m looking forward to the gender fluid character I know is coming soon one of these campaigns.
