The air in the safehouse was filled with quiet murmurs, people that Frank had brought back after a call. Some were restless, some were simply cracking under the pressure of the outbreak, and some were simply glad to be hidden away from the dead and lunatics out in the mall.
In all honesty, the photojournalist didn't pay much mind to any of their voices while he made his way through. There was- for once- nothing major taking place. No one needed help for the moment, and he was stuck waiting until the next lead revealed itself. The next fight. The next time he'd put his neck on the line for this goddamned story. (Someone had to do it though, and at the end of the day? He'd rather it be him than some other poor bastard.)
He cracked open a door, where the one person he was actively interested in seeing was staying. "Hey." Frank greeted quietly, pushing it open after making sure he was actually awake. "You, uh, feeling any better?"
Adam turned to look at the photojournalist, a smile on his face.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm chill now. The injury wasn't that bad hehe.."
Frank stepped in the room fully now, "Good. It could've been a lot worse, and then you might've been a goner." He commented, forcing back a yawn that threatened to leap from his throat.
The exhaustion was overwhelming. He had laid in damn battlefields to take notes and pictures for days on end, but there was semi-decent rest there. Without adrenaline, he was certain he would simply collapse in the mall.
"You don't seem all too bothered by all that stuff out there." Something he'd noted pretty quickly. Most that he found were petrified, shaking and ready to peel their own skin off due to the stress. Some were able to keep their composure and remain coherent, though hints of fear and worry stood out.
Adam was able to stay very cool about the situation. Either a brave face hiding a hell of a lot of fear, or he was just a lucky bastard to not be all too bothered by it all. (Or shock, or stupidity, or arrogance- would that just be stupidity too? He wasn't sure.) He respected it either way, it made him a hell of a lot easier to talk to. Maybe that was why he was coming back here to just chat, rather than watch the monitors with Jessie.
"Well I don't really have time to be bothered by stuff when I have to fucking survive heh."

Dean could feel the heat that once melted his very core with rage bubble into nothing more than ripples of what it once was. His fists had struck again and again into the hosts mushy body, to the point it felt more gross than actually satisfying.
His chest heaved, the heavy breathing no doubt a result of the fact he'd put every ounce of his power into every strike. It was something about it's smile, it drove him insane in a way nothing else could.
"Mh." He groaned, pressing both hands into the ground in order to bring himself up from it. One leg up followed by the other, rising him up to his full height. His attention turned to the two other contestants.
"...what're you cryin' about?"
The arms that once held Adam away from the scene had gone back to Anthony's sides. Adam sniffed as he tried to reply the best he could.
"That.. th-that was really unnecessary! I get that you were upset but you didn't have to hurt him! Anthony back me up here!"
Anthony had been smiling ever so slightly until Adam turned to look at him, which he went back to his dead pan face.
"I dunno Adam.. I think he deserved it."
Adam huffed and wiped the tears away from his eyes.
"Not helping dude.."
