What kind of blog is this?
I’d say it’s a mix between a personal art blog mixed with a scrapbook blog. I dunno though, I just post things I make that I think are cool. 🙈
Hi! I was wondering if you could explain what it means to be a contemporary artist?
I imagine it means something different to everyone. For me, it means being able to make art - in whatever medium I choose - and being able to express myself through my work. If you were looking for a more literal definition, it simply means an artist of this current era.

Night of November 24 2017
I dreamt I was at her vacation home. It was extremely nice outside. We were in a tropical environment. Her house was part of an apartment complex. Actually, it was more like a townhouse. There were only two or three floors. Each townhouse had an outdoor deck on the roof with a hot tub on it. They all had exposed brown brick on the exterior with black accent colored finishes. Myself, her, and I think a few other people were trying to decide what we were going to do for the night. We wanted to party. Trista was part of the group. I remember because she was wild. We met some other people near the townhouse and hit it off with them. They were also around our age. We explored the area trying to figure out what to do. I think we ended up going out at night. My friend Lukas was there and he had hooked up with this girl. She looked familiar. I think I knew her in real life. She wore a blue and white floral jumper. Across the street from the houses was a track meet. Again everyone there was around our age. We went over to watch. We needed something to do that wasn't too involved since we had gone out last night. I don't remember what that night out entailed though. We walked to a viewing area above the jumping pits of the track. We weren't directly above, we were simply higher than the track. I started to watch some of the races. I think they were doing the 200m. I watched a few heats then the jumping pits right below us caught my eye. They were starting the triple jump events. There were only two jumpers. One guy had on a pink hoodie, black pants, and pink sneakers on. I think he also had short dreads that went down to about the side of his face. He was talking to someone and stretching simultaneously right at the takeoff area of the runway. There was another guy who began to run down the runway. He jumped almost as if he was competing in a long jump event. They measured the jump when he was finished and he ran off. I think he just wanted to get a number down for his name so he could go finish other events. He was wearing a white hoodie and black pants. I'm not sure what color his shoes were. I watched and thought to myself that I could beat these guys. But I hadn't jumped in so long. I watched for a few more minutes and the thought to myself - why not. I ran from the viewing area into a building that I can only imagine was part of the track arena. The viewing bridge, or platform, that I was standing on connected to his building. From inside I took two immediate right turns and then a slight left to get to a window. I stuck my head out and I was right above the end of the sand pits. One of the officials was putting something away to get ready for the finals of the event. I asked if there was any way I could join the event still. He said normally no, but he did remember me so he knew this was one of my main events. He told me to go register and I could jump. He asked if I paid already. I told him I did. He replied saying that everyone thinks they paid, but they only pay the base cost. There's another fee that covers competing in this particular event. I told him I think I paid for that too. It was an extra $50. He nodded. The other two officials, who were both women, were listening in and told me that if I paid all I had to do was go get a number. Only one girl told me that. Not both. I thanked them and rushed downstairs to head over to the headquarters of the track meet. When I got to the door of the building I was in, I sat down by the door to put on my shoes. There was a small buffer between the main door and the outside area for people to put on shoes and such. I sat there. Putting on my shoes. Outside it was still sunny. But the door lead straight to a beach. The sun was setting in the distance to my right. The sky was a warm orange. There was a mild breeze and I could hear seagulls cawing in the background. The sound of waves crashing in an endless loop filled my ears. The ocean was right in front of me. I stopped for a moment when I saw it. How did it get right outside the front door? The sand from the beach went right up to the front door. I looked back and I was back inside her vacation home. I looked forward again, out at the beach. I still wanted to go. I stood up. The girl in the blue and white floral jumper walked in. She said hey, took off her shoes, and then walked inside. I walked outside onto the sandy beach. The sounds of the waves were engulfing me. I stood there and just enjoyed it for a moment. I hadn't seen the ocean in so long. In real life that is. And at that moment I knew that. It was nice to see it just for the time being. I woke up.
