On my trip back home, I remembered one other time related to the gentleman.
It was one of those hot summer afternoons, a weekend obviously, most likely a Saturday as I was at home and not at work, and not at friend’s house.
That gentleman, friend and I were all texting together.
You know, that free running banter people do, not really going anywhere, just keeping each other entertained.
I don’t know what friend was doing during the gab.
I think I was just sitting around.
The gentleman had a 50 acre farm.
He had goats and a couple cows and a bunch of chickens that I know of.
He was always talking about how he had to come up with stuff to keep the chickens from freezing in the winter. And the water troughs thawed so the animals could drink.
I do not believe he actually grew any sort of crop.
What I remember most is that he spent most of his time split between repairing his tractor, fence repair, tree cutting, burning cut trees and mowing. Incessant mowing.
He was always having to weld something or going to the tractor guys getting parts.
I really didn’t understand all that. But I understood it was all a lot of work.
Anyhoo, he was texting while getting ready to go mow.
He just came out and asked me if I would send him something to motivate him.
He had never asked anything like that before but since I really liked him, you now, in THAT way, I sent him a couple pictures to maybe give him a little boost to get those last acres done.
You have already seen the edited and cropped version of these pictures before, pretty much some of the ones friend keeps in his little silver frame on his bar.
I like to think they gave him some pleasure.
I got pleasure sharing them with him.
