"Thank you for saying that." Even if the statements were simple facts, the kindness weaved into them made Atticus feel more at ease than he had for the past twenty minutes. "Everything works out for the better in the end." He replied warmly, following her lead as they slowly made their way back to the park. "Your new friend might hold your pace back ..." He looked down at his Oxfords in slight embarrassment, hesitating on what would happen to his ankles if he took a gamble on them; going to the clinic always required him to don what felt more of a costume than anything else. "Maybe offer you some company in a light stroll? Iā I also like to run so I'll make it up to you another evening."
āYeah, of course. We all need a little pick me up from time to time.ā Adella scrunched up her nose. āEspecially in this weather⦠now Iām craving some hot chocolate.ā She looked around and turned to smile back at him, stretching her arms behind her back. āThatās alright, I needed to cool off and now I donāt have to do it alone.ā She nodded, shaking her hair free of her ponytail and trying not to fidget with the messy strands. āIāll take you up on that! I feel like none of my friends like that I chose running as my preferred morning hobby. Theyād like it a lot more if brunch or yoga were in the running.ā
