This floral image was drawn in sand by a pendulum during a 2001 Seattle earthquake. Researchers believe the ‘rose’ was created by the initial 6.8 magnitude tremor, and the outer lines were etched during the aftershocks. They were going to make a mold made of the pattern, but a 3-year-old accidentally kicked it over. Source
