Sun and Moon both in harmony dance God and Goddess together in eternal romance Connected for a short while, yet their love never ends During this time when all coexists I ask for love and deep inner bliss 🌛🌞🌜
an honest self portrait: i have awkward farmer's tan gradient lol

Trying to get back into drawing stuff again @_@ 2 am doodle!
It’s been awhile! :^) Thought I’d give digital stuff a go again, since it’s been awhile (And I noticed this looks reaaaally dark when I view this on mobile devices :( darn it!)
So excited to finally post these! I had the wonderful opportunity to work with High School ESL students in the OC area to write children's stories. Each of them came in English and a second language, depending on what the author was also fluent in (Spanish the most common). Just yesterday, we self-published them cartonera-style to children in Santa Ana. The same wonderful people who collaborated on the CRC mural needed another illustrator for their team, and I accepted! All of the teens were really enthusiastic so it was fun the entire way though (almost kinda sad to see it come to an end!)
Thank you to Travieso Press and Workshop for Community Arts for allowing me to participate :)
Finally decided to branch out to another planet and made an Instagram! It’s still a baby, but I’m hoping to get into the habit of posting more. There might be more sketches there than the finished stuff here. We’ll see!
I’d also like to FINALLY post an honorable project. I had the wonderful opportunity to paint a ‘mini-mural’ for CSUF’s Chicana and Chicano Resource Center, along with other wonderful community folks. Each of us planned, sketched, and painted all of the little figures on here. The sizing of the mural had to be smaller and portable due to the possibility of the Center moving locations sometime in the future.
Our goal was to have students be able to seem themselves represented in the CRC (often called “A Home Away From Home”). It was the Center’s gift to them. The biggest issue was this project started during the summer, when no one was really around! So I created several Google Forms with questions and posted it on social media. Students then put their input or stories of what they wanted to see on the little mural and....voilà!
Each individual figure and symbol is based on real people and their stories.
Charcoal and I have a weird relationship
Whoops! Completely forgot to upload these. I had the opportunity to take an oil painting class for school, and....surprisingly, I enjoyed it! Learned a lot in a few months. Painting isn’t my strongest medium so it was a really difficult process.
These are a few that I enjoyed. Some are homework, others are studies. (My apologies for the bad quality of the photos, I only have my iTouch to snap them)
Woo! Here's a piece I did for another issue of Jar, this issue's theme was Harvest. You can read the zine here.
Quick study on a folklorico dancer (Jalisco). Two inbetweens are rotoscoped because I confused myself with the fabric placement....
Paint tool sai study. Posts have been slow because of work and school. But I have interesting art classes, so I’m definitely still drawing!
A tiny zine I made really quickly to hand out at OC Zine fest 2016. It was was specifically folded to be about palm sized and opened up to have a poster! I got stuck thinking of a topic so I thought “What do I love most? Polka dots!”
It was my first time going and I had a blast! :) I’m definitely going to try vending next year!
Tired old friend and unfamiliar train passengers
Summer has been crazy!
Some funnies about my adventures in ballet folklorico so far!
Sadly, this post has gotten so much attention that it was stolen a few times! The issue has since been fixed. Ugly watermarks away!!
