heaven's reach is probably my absolute favorite nikki area to explore yet, it's so DENSE and you have so many different abilities to solve puzzles in different ways and it's just really fun

also some pictures in the inexplicably dairy-themed dungeon because...i have a severe dairy intolerance and i thought it was funny lol. muttered "ew" out loud at a few points there. lbr riding a boat through a sea of milk with chunks of cheese is absolutely disgusting to everyone right?? i'm not crazy right??? i usually try to avoid looking at dungeon/area preview images so it completely surprised me. aggressive cheese area.

even though it was pretty heavily foreshadowed, the transition from Another Silly Shroomling Food Dungeon into "the shroomlings are getting eaten" was excellent. just so jarring and ridiculous. i think IN is at its best when it just goes all in and does dark ass shit out of nowhere, and i think one reason it landed so well is bc of the past ridiculous shroomy dungeons, especially that sugar-themed one from a few patches ago.

the asna/titan flashbacks just had me going "cool scarlet hollow reference" mostly. but i liked that sequence too. in general have liked the walk-through memory sequences from these last few updates, even if it's a little odd that nikki somehow manages to tap into all these people's memories by accident over and over. it still works from a storytelling perspective though, better than text dumps.

rip angert but they introduced him by panning up from his abs again and that makes me giggle every time. that's how nikki recognizes him ig, she doesn't know what his face looks like. the various mourning hourglasses around the area where he dies were excellent, a rare moment of really good nikki multiplayer. i hit level 100 finally literally for finishing that quest/scene so i took a celebratory picture with the rock because i'm very tactful like that.

i think infinity nikki has a unique talent for spelling out every story detail very slowly and repeatedly while also somehow managing to be massively confusing and hard to follow. i was REALLY trying this time man but there were times when i was just like. Okay. Souls I guess. does any other gacha game have to have the main character turn the screen and give a mandatory pop quiz on the last several scenes to force the audience to at least understand the basics? but i was really having fun this time around so it's chill
