Politics in Switzerland

 While in Switzerland, I have decided to focus more on their politics than anything else! So, I'm going to tell you some stuff about their politics right now. 

Although Switzerland's government is a confederation, it is similar to a federal republic. In 1291, when their confederation was started, they formed a defensive partnership along with three cantons. Since then, more countries have joined with those three.

When we get to Switzerland, we are supposed to learn more about the politics. However, that is all I can tell you right now, but I will tell you more when we get there!

"I am Switzerland"

 So for a long time, Switzerland has been sort of a neutral state. This means that they cannot take part in any war, argument, or anything. So sometimes, when people are in an argument and someone says "I am not getting into this argument. I'm Switzerland." it means they want to stay out of it, like Switzerland does. The only time Switzerland will ever get into something is when it's self-defense. That is the only time their forces will fight someone, is to protect themselves.

Happiest People in the World!

Because I forgot to tell you that the Danes are the happiest people in the world, I will tell you now! They are so happy because, well, there are a few reasons. One being, healthcare is FREE. Yes, free, for EVERYONE. Wow I wish I lived there. Another, homeless people, and poverty is very rare in Denmark. In America, it's a very common thing. And when it's time to go to college, you get PAID! You literally get paid to go to college. Now I really want to live there! There are many other reasons to explain their happiness, but the plane is getting into turbulence so I can't blog anything else for now.

Next stop: Switzerland

I'm moving on to the second stop of our journey! I'm headed South to Switzerland! I'm sooooo excited!

Geography!

 So, I realized I hadn't talked much about the geography while I was in Denmark. Now I will!

 In the Western part of Europe, you will find the great and wonderful Denmark! It borders the North and Baltic sea, so it's surrounded by water mostly. Also, it borders Germany.

Since their climate is the temperature climate, they have mildly cold and windy winters; kind of like us. Because of this, their summers are even fairly cold; it's not a very hot place. Their coldest month is February, which has an average temperature of 32˚. Their warmest month being July, has an average temperature of 63˚. That's a lot colder than us I guess! No wonder it's so cold here, it's almost February! Plus, they get quite a bit of rain. I mean, we do too but they get about two feet a year, at least.

  In Denmark, they have many natural resources. Some are fish, natural gas, salt, limestone, stone, petroleum, sand, and gravel. See, told you they had a bunch!

 That's all I have to share about their geography for today!

Well, our meeting with the queen wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She was a lot nicer than I had expected, but she was a little rough, very opinionated about things. 

 At least now I can say I met the queen!(:

I'm kind of nervous to meet the queen... She is literally a queen. I just hope she's not rude to us. If she is, oh well. At least I can say I met her. Wish me luck!

Today we're doing a lot of sight seeing! We're going to meet the queen first, then having lunch, then going to see the mermaid statue! I forgot the name of it but it's a statue of a little mermaid, and is super famous and over 100 years old!

Getting ready for bed, the bed looks super cozy right now after a long plane ride. Goodnight everyone!

This is our food we ate for dinner. Not really sure what is is, but it was very good. It kind of tasted like chicken.

We decided we weren't going to go out tonight, we're just eating here instead. This is the dining room though. The food is simply divine as well. Plus, all the people are super nice, compared to back home.

This is the hotel we're staying at. This is it during the day, it's even prettier at night! Just wait til you see the inside, it's simply amazing.

Taking a taxi to the hotel now. Can't wait to go sight seeing tonight! I heard its beautiful at night!

Just landed at the Copenhagen Airport in Denmark. It's so lovely here, also, everything is so different from back home! I think I could get used to this(-:
