-- BIOGRAPHY --

Aleks was born the product of a pureblood affair. His biological father has never really been a part of his life, and while his mother wasn’t looking for a kid any more than his biological father was, she adapted. Somewhat. His stepfather isn’t his favourite person in the world (and neither is his mother, for that matter), but the sister he gained when his mother married made up for everything else.

He has never been what you would call book smart, and he was never adept at magic. School was a struggle for him, because although he could have easily been a social butterfly, his lack of magical ability left him something of an outcast.

His education ended at Hogwarts, and while he throws around jokes about being ‘the family disappointment,’ it hurts him more than he lets on. These days, he’s all but a muggle- he hasn’t practiced magic in years, failing to see the point in trying when all he ever accomplished was letting his parents down and disappointing himself.

This is another reason he sticks so firmly to his place of neutrality: he thinks he exists only on the fringes of this world.

Even aside from magic and scholarly woes, he’s a jack of all trades at best. He’s passable enough of a business man to have kept his greasy little Diner’s doors open, he’s decent enough of a cook to have opened it in the first place, he’s pretty okay at the guitar, the doodles he scrawls on occasion aren’t terrible, and once in a while he’ll come up with a witty joke or a poem that isn’t too awful to share. He’s never found anything he’s *good* at, though; and at this point in his life, he’s accepted that there just isn’t anything.

So maybe self worth is something he struggles with. He tries not to think about it much. He may not be an incredible person, but he knows he’s a good one, and that counts for something.

Some things have improved since his childhood: He’s still close as ever with his sister, and he has a number of friends now too, people from all walks of life. He’s especially drawn to the ones who are struggling, the ones who he thinks he can help.

He is a big, clumsy fool, but he’s very kind hearted, and he cares far more about taking care of everyone else than he does himself. He's not a bad person to have on your bad side in the least, but he is a good person to have on your good side.

Benny was born into a family of low purebloods, with barely a name and a family business that made them bottom of the barrel types at pureblood parties.

At school, he wasn’t popular, and was extremely interested in plants and potions that were less known for their good properties and more known as poisons.

His parents died under *mysterious circumstances* and he inherited the family business and the family fortune before he even finished school

He didn’t bother finishing school, choosing instead to throw himself into business and making it more lucrative than it had been before.

He currently runs the most successful magical funeral parlor in wizard london, and he will be happy to tell you so at parties.

He does not give a shit about the war, though he does tend to lean toward the side with the people he knows better from pureblood circles. He also can’t wait to see what all of these muggles bring to the table.

Along the way, he managed to adopt some kids and despite everything, he loves them and he loves being a dad.

Cadence Bell was supposed to be a star.

She was always an energetic and athletic girl, climbing trees and playing football in the yard with her two older brothers, ready to jump into the game full force. Several broken bones in her youth are a testament to that. She tackled each and every problem with a headstrong determination that didn’t lend itself to subtlety. She was a warrior, a fighter, and a force unto herself. She took that headstrong determination into Hogwarts with her, where she had been so sure she was destined to be a Gryffindor like her ma and her brothers before her, and was instead sorted into Ravenclaw, something her eldest brother had always jokingly called the Sorting Hat’s first big mistake. She wasn’t as intellectually gifted as some of her peers, rather, she thought differently, in a way that allowed her to figure things out in a way that others might not get to. There were different kinds of Ravenclaws, her ma would say over holiday dinner that first year. Cade was simply a different type.

Quidditch was a forgone conclusion for Cade. Anyone who knew her knew that she had been excited to try out for her house team since she was seven and her dad had gotten her one of those toy brooms that barely hovered off the ground. She tried out second year, and was disappointed when she didn’t make the team, though was offered words of encouragement to try out again the next year. In her eyes, this simply meant she had to train harder, and she did, spending any time not eaten up by class on the pitch, flying, tossing the Quaffle through hoops and when she could convince her friends to join her, blocking their attempts. She would try out for any position, though her affinity always leaned more toward the Chaser and the Keeper positions.

Third year, she got the spot as Keeper for the Ravenclaw team, and played the rest of her school career. She wasn’t known for being a talent in the classroom, keeping her grades average or above average enough that she could continue to play, and her last year at school, she played the hardest she ever had, knowing that the occasional guest from professional teams like to scout the school for players.

The first professional team she played for, the Ballycastle Bats, was a middle of the road team as far as she was concerned. She wanted to be a Harpy. She played hard for the Bats, playing for three full years on the team before her dream was realized and a scout from the Harpies approached her with a contract to her dream. She signed, and she was finally wearing the green and gold colours of the Harpies, subbing in for their injured Keeper her very first year. Things were amazing.

Until they weren’t amazing anymore.

Her injury was minor. Just a broken pinky. She could have even still played with it. Unfortunately, she lost her temper at the player who had hit the bludger her way, more so when he taunted her from his broom, and they both went down in what the media had called ‘A spectacular mid-air brawl’. Effectively ending her season on a tragic low. She was called in for a disciplinary hearing, and benched for at least half the next season, told that if she wanted a chance to come back, she would need to take anger management classes.

That’s been her trap since. Trying to tamper her temper, angry with her situation, and trying to get back on the broom for the next season.

-- BIOGRAPHY --

Carolina Snyde, oldest daughter to Saoirse and Charles Snyde, was born screaming and never stopped. Her voice was loud, she was able to project it down the length of the House tables at Hogwarts, could catch you from five staircases up. Of course, half the time she was half hung over the railing, holding on by her pinkies as she looked downwards - but who’s really caring that much about specifics? Even so, she was never really the “it” girl. She had friends in all the other houses, was able to come and go as she pleased. It was nice. There weren’t many commitments she had to stick to over the summers or during break - and that attitude carried into her life post education.

Coming from a Pureblood family, Lena was used to prejudice being whispered into her ears from a young age. She never listened, though, letting the words slip out through the other ear. When she was sorted into Hufflepuff her father gave her a warning. One that was inteded to scare her straight, make her see the ‘wisdom’ of his words and of the plan of the Dark Lord. Still, she let the words slip away. By the time she was fifteen, Charles was sick of trying to ‘bring her around’. He gave her an ultimatum, take the mark when she turned seventeen or live on the street. Carolina packed her trunk and called the Knight Bus before he could even start yelling.

After that, there was a tough outer layer thrown over her personality. She didn’t tell many of her classmates, only trusting a few with the information, and she mostly just pretended that it never happened. Denial has the grip of a boa, and it has been almost a decade in which it has been constricting Lena’s mind. In an act of defiance, or maybe she had been subconsciously working towards it since she was younger, Lena joined the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts division at the ministry. She has always been fascinated with muggle life, as it had been shielded from her for so long and spoken with such distaste, that it only felt natural to gravitate towards wanting to know more. Plus, she was absolute shit at potions, in which the rest of her family excelled. (Did they explode in her face nine times out of ten? maybe so)

Carolina now lives in a small little apartment in Muggle London. It’s a few train stops away from the Ministry, but she doesn’t mind. The past few years she has immersed herself in muggle culture, and it wasn’t until she started noticing weird things happening around her complex and in London in general that she began fully putting herself back into the wizarding world. Of course, if you walk into her apartment you will usually find a plant watering itself, the dishes being cleaned and placed in their respective places, and other odd happenings - but she’s barely seen other wizards outside of work. The war she had been avoiding for so long was finally at her doorstep, and maybe the denial that had been glazing over her eyes for so long was finally fading away.

Gideon Prewett. Gideon Fucking Prewett. He was definitely the pretty boy of his class, bright smile, swooping hair, glittering eyes. Not much really going on behind them. He barely passed his courses, enjoying Potions the most because he could deliberately fuck them up. How he passed his Auror training? He couldn’t tell you. He promises there was no felix felicis involved. He may be a bit dim, but he’s not an idiot.

When Fabian was put into Ravenclaw, Gideon had a bit of a breakdown. He is not codependent, absolutely not, but that’s his brother. They shared a damn womb and now they’re separated for the next seven years? He did not handle it well, and perhaps that showed in how he spent his years at Hogwarts. He would goof off, play pranks, make friends with Peeves. Normal Hogwarts fanfare. Afterwards, he was a bit lost. He didn’t know what to do, but he knew he wanted to help. Plus, the Order seemed to be his calling already, so why not make it a bit more…. official?

He flew through Auror training, an absolute 180 from his years at Hogwarts. He’s 23 now, living on the outskirts of London, and taking down bad guys like an absolute badass. A badass who trips often, drops his wand even more often, and has horrible aim. But, he still has several wizards in Azkaban that are waiting to get their revenge. He doesn’t care about that, though. Azkaban is impossible to break out of. He’ll focus on the rest of them, make that jail one big bad guy family reunion.

When it comes to the war, there are still times he feels a bit lost in the Order. He realizes that he joined because it was the right thing to do, that he is helping. But there’s a tinier part of him that just isn’t sure he’s doing anything. He’s not as strong as the others, as smart as the others - so what if they’re just keeping him around because they don’t know how to tell him to bugger off?

Growing up on the streets of Godric’s Hollow leads to being very resourceful. Secretive. A bit of a hoarder. And naive. By the age of 9, Tabitha could barely read, count, or act proper at a dining table. She could sneak through alleys, hide behind dumpsters, and steal a pie that was chilling on your window all without being seen. She would blend in with the shadows, sticking to walls and climbing over fences. It wasn’t until she hadn’t slept for three days, the cold of late fall biting into her fingers and toes that she made a mistake. It was common knowledge, at least she knew, that Bathilda Bagshot had a horrible memory when it came to locking her back door.

So she snuck inside, staying close to the door but huddling as close as possible to any heat that she could find. And then she fell asleep. For a good fifteen hours. Bathilda found her that morning, and she was just strong enough to carrying Tabitha to the couch and cover her with a homemade quilt. Ever since then, Tabitha has been an unofficial Bagshot. Bathilda never had kids of her own, and her nieces and nephews didn’t visit often. Unless you count Gellert Grindlewald that one time that Bathilda will never talk about.

Bathilda helped her go to Hogwarts, taking her to Diagon Alley and outfitting her for anything and everything she may need, including an owl and eventually a broom. Tabitha didn’t take quidditch as seriously as her contemporaries, but she was a good ass beater and she won’t let you forget it. Her sneaking around didn’t stop once Bathilda took her in, though. Tabitha spent her free time finding secret passageways, collecting secrets frome very corner of the castle and collecting them into a little journal. It may have stemmed from Bathilda rattling on about the novels she had written and how she collected all her data, or from the fact that Tabitha finally had a home. She was going to make sure she knew Hogwarts like the back of her hand, just like how she knew the streets of Godric’s Hollow.

Now, though, it’s been ten years since she left Hogwarts. Bathilda isn’t terribly decrepit, but her memory is almost shot. Tabitha takes care of her, her way of thanking the old coot for taking her off the streets and giving her a life. She’s waiting for an opening at Hogwarts to be the Muggle Studies Professor, but every time she sends a letter it either ‘goes missing’ or is unanswered. It’s not stopping her, though, as she’s determined to go back to her home and help kids that were just like her. She won’t tell you that, though. Instead, she’ll insist that living at the castle is going to be the only option once Bathilda bites the dust, and the streets have gotten much to dark over the past decade.

Bilius Weasley grew up in a home where he never had to worry. His older brother Arthur was always there, his mom made a killer mince pie, and his dad was keen to guide him in any hobbies he may find. Growing up in a Pureblood society didn’t affect him, he loved meeting new people no matter their blood status, and when he was old enough to recognize what a ‘blood traitor’ was, he didn’t give a shit. The words rolled right off him, and it was something he was a bit proud of. He spent his years at Hogwarts exuding that same energy and trying to help his classmates react the same way. He’s a giver. Always making sure those around him are happy before he thinks about himself.

After Hogwarts, he began an apprenticeship at St. Mungo’s to become a Healer. It was one of the few educational topics he could actually retain, which was helpful as his defensive magic is quite shit. At 20, he set up his own little emergency medicine clinic in Muggle London, and he’s never been more excited for anything. He doesn’t make much money from it, always charging less than he should’ve and spending more money on supplies than he makes. But Bill makes it work, he’s sure it won’t ever be profitable, but why should care be profitable? He’ll figure out a side gig eventually.

The Order of the Phoenix has been a weird safe haven for Bilius, a place where he is able to flourish and feel helpful. He isn’t much of a strategist, but he can heal people physically and push a smile onto their face mentally. Of course, it takes a bit of a toll, and he’s known to frequent the Leaky Cauldron on the weekends only to stumble home and cradle another bottle of fire whiskey there. He refuses to see it as a problem, as each morning he wakes with a clear head. And how else is he supposed to deal with a war that could take away his family?

Archibald Graves is the oldest of the Graves Triplets. He takes his last name as a badge of honor, and it is a heavy one that keeps his shoulders pulled back and chin constantly held high. His whole life has been a blur of protecting his siblings, smiling for the cameras, and making a bit of trouble along the way. Now that he’s become accustomed to living in England, the spark that was hiding behind locked doors at Hogwarts has re-emerged. He’s witty. A bit in your face. Haughty. He doesn’t give a fuck what you think about him.

After Hogwarts he knew he had a choice to make. He was still determined to avenge his parents, and so he proved himself loyal to the Dark Lord... kind of. The dark mark is now a constant reminder that he’s chosen a side, but there are too many holes in the plot that is his life. He still has plenty of friends in the Order, and his new mission is to make them realize he is only a Death Eater to try and figure out what happened to his parents. While trying to prove himself a sort of double agent, he has an internship with the Ministry in the office of MACUSA relations.

He lives in a quaint apartment with his siblings, walking distance from the Ministry. They both know of his mark, and he couldn’t hide his true intentions from either of them. He knows it’s risky, for Ajax and Antigone to know, but it would be impossible to freeze them out. Through all this, they have been the two people he has trusted the most, and that’s not changing now.

Archie knows one small mistake will make all his progress blow up in his face. There are too many things that could go wrong, but far many more that could go right. While the world seems to be burning around him, he can’t help but decide that it’s best if he puts all his efforts into his own family - no matter how selfish that might be.

At the tender age of 5, Quin discovered that magic was as impulsive as the person wielding it. He showed his signs of magic, but the signs were haphazard and never quite mellowed. His parents, bless them, were afraid of their child and the wild things his magic seemed to lash out and do. He was not, as one might think, more powerful simply because his unwieldy magic lashed out so early and so oddly, but instead a wild child who couldn’t seem to channel magic at all.

This was confirmed when, at age 11, he went to buy a wand from Mr. Ollivander and not a single one chose him. He didn’t have luck, and left the wand shop that day in tears, wondering why he was such a freak. Whispers of his status as a Squib started to trickle back to him, and made him only feel worse.

Instead of Hogwarts, he was tutored at home, practicing with his mother or his father’s wand and finding that, with proper concentration, he could channel his magic, but only in short bursts, making it reckless and dangerous. As his parents discovered this, they turned their attentions to things that helped him with anxiety, as the stress weighed on him, things like breathing techniques and little games to play in his head to distract his constantly revolving brain away from such a fast past. He grew up more neurotic for it, but did find little ways to help himself

When he turned 17, that fated age that every wizard child waits for, he found himself adrift. His parents, ever patient and kind, had made the decision long ago that they were going to take a vacation once the boy was a man, though they had assumed that by then, his little magical hiccups would be cured. They left him their house, and they set him up with his job, assuring both him and his new employer that he would be a good worker.

Record keeping, dull work. Cataloging books and keeping track of finances was not his idea of a good time, but he found little ways to make it fun. Made little games out of his job. He also found passions. Hobbies outside of work. He liked to read about different types of magic, finding a particular interest in the Dark Arts and how to ward them off. He loved magical creatures and could tell you anything you needed to know about them from the top of his head. He was a huge fan of cooking. He always found little things to keep himself entertained. And it helped.

The war never really came knocking at his door, but Quin found it interesting none the less. He followed it like a tennis match, never quite finding a side to pick, but not straying away from finding interest in all the factions splitting and making a point for their cause. He was far closer to aligning with the Order than he was with the Death Eaters, but he was well aware that neither side would actually want him on their team to begin with. Pam was an interesting wild card, but he is monitoring them carefully before making any final decision.

Lydia’s the baby. That’s been her defining trait within Altman family her whole life: Lydia, the miracle baby that came years after her parents thought they were able to have children. Lydia, the miracle. And honestly? She doesn’t mind in the slightest. Sure she definitely got spoiled and sure she probably could’ve done with a bit stricter of a parental regime, but she turned out fine didn’t she? Hell yeah. She turned out just fine.

 Lydia’s emotions are as permanent as her decisions, which is to say: not very. She’s not held down a job for more than a year, her favourite colour changes at least once a quarter, and she’s always longed to be a bit more like Seraphina Parkinson so she could change her hairstyle at will without having to wait for it to all grow back. Permanence just doesn’t stick well with her. The only people she’s ever truly managed to form a lasting connection with are her family and her two best friends.

 Now she’s stuck in the middle of a war that’s becoming increasingly hard to pretend is some long media deep-fake prank, toeing the line of her family’s hard kept neutrality. Lydia knows if she picks a side it’s not something she can take back lightly, but how is she supposed to know what really fits her unless she tries them both? Ideological debate has never been one of her strengths, and her mostly firmly held belief is that every room could use a secret stash of sparklers. She’s not exactly war fighting material.

 But it’s fine, because she’s having a great time right? Right. And in the end that’s probably all that matters.

Imogen was not a planned child. She was a surprise to parents who had no plans to have more children and didn’t quite know how to raise another child. They never mistreated her, but they didn’t exactly treat her carefully, either. They were interested in the next part of their lives by the time she went off to school, and left her to herself most of the time.

Acting out became Imogen’s knee jerk response to feeling neglected or ignored. She was loud, she was brash, and most of all, she made damn sure that she was seen. In school, she was very much a mean girl. She didn’t have a single problem with picking up on and digging into the insecurities of others and making them feel as bad as she secretly felt.

She was a gifted student in any class that involved wandwork, but found magic boring at times, perhaps because it came a little too easily to her in certain areas, and because the ones that didn’t come easily to her, she brushed off as useless. She didn’t have grand plans laid out for once she left school, never taking seriously what a career would look like for her.

Once she left Hogwarts, she continued to push for attention, seeking out relationships and gigs that had eyes on her. She ended up falling into exotic dancing because of that, enjoying the eyes on her, enjoying the way it made her feel, enjoying the money she walked away with at the end of the night, and especially enjoying that her parents were paying attention now. Even if the attention wasn’t great.

In the past three years, she has tried extremely hard to reconnect with her brother after he returned to the family dynamic, but she wasn’t sure she could really find the right way to fit him into place in her life when he hadn’t really been around for most of her formative years.

She decided to become a plant for the Order and get in good with the Death Eaters when she realized that most of her clients had those stupid dark marks splashed across their arms, and that they talked a lot more than they should when they saw pretty lace underwear.

at this point who doesn’t know the story of the buchanan family? it is certainly one that has been heard before; the dad’s a muggle and mam’s a witch. the lovely young couple were completely in love anyway. filip and fiona married without a regret and set about to begin an idyllic pastoral life right on the scottish borders. they built up a family farm and soon filled it to suit the name.

cooper was first. an eldest boy dashing as he was daring, he always fearlessly lead the way, even if he didn’t know which direction he was going. next born was logan who certainly helped balance the scales with forethought and planning. he was always clever as he was capable. then came ethan. he was sensitive, sincere, and sometimes a bit secretive. yet the complete array of specific personality was never really complete until their little sister was finally born.

nessa leith buchanan jolted into the world nearly at the dot of midnight right on the cusp of summer. she carried in her very presence a certain warmth and revitalized energy much like the season. their mother used to claim that nessa was like catching lightning in a bottle- breathtaking and so close to being a disaster. childhood bustling between the farm and the family was brimming with excitement, especially as each of the children began to discover their own talents. between sports, fine art, and music, it seemed like the only thing they shared was a devastatingly accurate hand-eye coordination.

even nessa, who spent more than her fair share of time not thinking things through, figured out her love of game cabinets when she spent two months worth of saturday afternoons helping her dad rebuild an old pinball machine he recovered for them. she had a talent for the circuitry as well as ticking up a higher score every day. the fast pace matched her own. nessa always seemed to lean more towards the muggle side of things than the magic. yet still, she showed the signs early on of being a witch.

a letter of acceptance to hogwarts came as no surprise. still by the time nessa received that simple wax sealed parchment with welcoming emerald ink, she could barely manage to contain the electric energy inside of herself. unlike any of her brothers, nessa was almost immediately sorted into hufflepuff house. it turned out that was where she belonged. nessa thrived amongst the hardworking and fair-minded yellow badgers. however, she never did show proclivity towards any particular magic. her marks remained average in every subject until graduation which did not leave her with much direction on what to do afterwards.

nessa returned home to work on the farm until she could figure out what exactly she wanted to do in life, but nothing magic ever seemed to feel right. the options just never suited her. apparation even proved to be too tricky for her to ever get a license. admittedly, she probably lingered far too long with indecision. although it seemed obvious to everyone else, nessa had developed a real skill with electronics. there was nothing that she couldn’t eventually figure out how to rewire and fix. tinkering turned her ever jittery fingers adroit and adept.

then the crash happened. it felt as sudden as that. their parents where here loving and living and laughing, getting ready to celebrate with them all, and then they were gone. the world seemed cruel for it. nessa still wonders if she hadn’t pretended to lose that damn necklace, could the timing have been different. would the collision go unmet? could everyone leave unscathed? should she have simply reminded her mother how beautiful she looked and let them go? was it her fault? the pointlessness of that question forced it’s way to the forefront of her mind on those days following when nessa no longer seemed able to light up the room or even pull herself out from under the covers.

no one needed to know about those days, though.

those days happened somewhat less often now. the distance between them much greater now that life had started to grow around the grief. nessa needed to find something else to do. she found a job as the general manager of an arcade that cater towards magic. it was a perfect fit for her, and recently, she took over all operations as the owner left town to go on tour. between fixing the broken machines, she spends her spare energy trying to get the high score on them all too. anything to distract from falling back into that listless lost absence again.

Samson was born in the mid-summer time, to parents who loved him but unfortunately, did not truly know how to be parents. He was a difficult child. He fussed whenever he was left alone for too long and he hated being put down, always needing to be held in his mother or father’s arms. The two of them went through five different nannies before they found one who could put up with his seemingly constant sulky attitude; whenever he complained, she had called him a ‘sweet summer child’ which had confused him enough to make him forget his whining for a moment. She was also the person whom, in the end, gave him the most attention and taught him the most about growing up. When he had been ten, close to stepping into Hogwarts and his mother had fallen pregnant, she had shook her head in a disbelief that Samson wouldn’t understand for many years.

When Samson arrived at Hogwarts, there was no hint of the once fussy, sulking little boy who cried for attention and stamped his feet whenever he was frustrated. He had made friends easily and had been sorted into Hufflepuff almost as soon as the sorting hat had touched the top of his head. He had never excelled in his classes, but he had passed them all with relatively good grades, enough to progress him through Owls to Newts and give him a good pick over what career path he wanted to take. Magical Maintenance might have been seen as a step down by some of his professors, who were disappointed he had not pushed himself into more political roles, but his head of house had remarked that it suited him well.

While at Hogwarts, he had met Martha. She had been loud, pushy and for many years, a constant thorn in his side. However, as they had gotten older, their attraction had become mutual and they had begun to date, much to the consternation of many of his friends. When they left Hogwarts, they quickly settled into a place together and life was good for a time; he worked at the Ministry and she worked for Gringotts, and within a year of graduation they were married and planning a family. Shortly after however, things had begun to fall apart; slowly at first. The changes had been subtle. He hadn’t noticed what was happening until he was in the thick of it. Like a frog placed in a pot of water that was slowly rising in temperature, he hadn’t noticed that he was boiling to death until it had almost been too late.

The divorce was messy. Crawling back to his parents for help had been humiliating. He had begged them not to tell his sister what had happened, and they had agreed, though neither parent had seemed happy to do so. His mother had been heartbroken and his father stoic, unable to talk to his son in the way that they used too. Samson relies on a small group of friends and after two years and papers finally signed, he is finally starting to feel like his old self again.
