“Just like the white-winged dove, sings a song, sounds like she’s singing… Stevie Nicks is the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a second time. First, with Fleetwood Mac, and now for her unforgettable solo work. With Stevie, you’re not celebrating music from long ago through the mists of time. She was standing on stage headlining a place doing her best work just three nights ago. She is forever current. She is forever Stevie. But what exactly does that mean? In my family we listened at home, we listened in the car, we listened wherever we could. “Dreams” was the first song I knew all the words to, before I really knew what all the words meant. I thought it was a song about the weather. But I knew it was a beautiful song about the weather. I always knew the words and I love them all. “Thunder only happens when it’s raining, Players only love you when they’re playing.” She’s so wise and serene. She sees all the romance and the drama in the world and she celebrates it. She will stand on stage introducing a song, telling you how she wrote them — honestly — like you’re the only other person in the world. You’re more than a fan. You are a friend. And the words say in so many ways: I understand you and you are not alone. And that is true Stevie. She walked a path created by Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell — visionary women who had to throw a couple of elbows to create their own space. Her early band Fritz opened for Jimi Hendrix and they held their own. She was far ahead of her time, creating her own sound; it was bright, it was fresh, it was magical. Next, she formed a duo with Fritz’ bassist Lindsay Buckingham. Then on New Years’ Eve 1974, Mick Fleetwood invited Lindsay Buckingham and herself to join Fleetwood Mac and everyone’s lives became brilliant and a lot crazier. Stevie Nicks stepped onto the world stage with unforgettable ease. I remember it well! She began creating stories that flowed from her heart to her pen, which ended up in our souls, with characters we’d always remember. Classic songs like “Silver Springs,” “Rhiannon,” “Gypsy” and “Sara.” In the 1980s she released Bella Donna — as powerful as the supergroup she was still in. With “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” she and Tom Petty took things to another level. Then she did it again with albums like The Wild Heart and Rock A Little. She went out on her own. It’s probable that at some point she found herself in a barbershop quartet. Stevie can do it all, and that is true Stevie. You can’t take your eyes off of her, as we’ve seen tonight. She is the magical gypsy godmother who occupies the in-between. It’s a space that can and will only ever be hers. She’s a lot like a rock ‘n’ roll Nina Simone — finding the notes that only she can. And by being so unapologetically herself, she gives others permission to do the same. That is true Stevie. If you’re lucky enough to know her, she’s always there for you. She knows what you need, advice, a little wisdom, a blouse, a shawl — she’s got you covered. Her songs make you ache, feel on top of the world, make you want to dance, and usually all three at the same time. She’s responsible for more running mascara — including my own — than all the bad dates in history combined. That is true Stevie. There are few people that hold the stage like her. I was lucky enough to play with her at the Troubadour a few years ago, and all I could do was watch. The show is no longer yours, it’s hers, and you take a knee as she takes it from you, and that is true Stevie. She has many solo hits: “If Anyone Falls,” “Edge of Seventeen,” “Talk to Me.” But there are so many gems within the albums, songs like “Belle Fleur” and “Garbo.” “Annabel Lee” and “Ooh My Love.” However you feel, or want to feel, there’s a Stevie Nicks song that will meet you there. Each song is a dance, an emotional ballet, a letter to a lover or a friend. And every single year, she gathers more momentum. Somewhere around 2005, 2006, this woman became God. I think we can all agree on that. On Halloween, one in seven people dresses as Stevie Nicks. She is both an adjective, and a verb — to quote my father, “That was very Stevie Nicks!” or to quote my mother, “I Stevie Nicks’ed that shit so hard.” Mick Fleetwood calls her the “fearless leader.” She is “Mama Lion” to her friends. She is the family member that you can always count on. I hope she knows what she means to us, what she means to yet another generation of artists who look to her for inspiration and trailblazing courage. That is true Stevie. She is more than a role model — she’s a beacon to all of us. Whenever you hear her voice, life gets a little bit better. When she sings, the world is hers, and it is yours. She is everything you’ve ever wanted in a lady, in a lover, in a friend. Stephanie Nicks, I love you. We all do. And that is true, Stevie. Ladies and gentlemen, It has been an honor to be here with you all tonight, please join me in welcoming to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Stevie Nicks.”

harry’s not just inducting stevie nicks into the hall of fame, hes inducting stevie nicks into the hall of fame. the woman he has looked up to and idolized all his life — as a child and as a musician — the woman who took him under her wing and treats him like her son. he got to sing her lyrics on his stage and got her to sing his lyrics and now he gets to induct her into the rock and roll hall of fame — and it’s her second time. the only female artist in history to accomplish that. and harry gets to share the moment with her. i’m oKay

Louis and Harry break dancing x
Thurs 28 Mar
Much anticipation for tomorrow; will Harry do the livestreamed red carpet interviews at the Hall of Fame event? Will the Two of Us music video come out? In the meantime however we have today’s content to entertain (and a little from yesterday and even before)…
The feeling is that it would be out of character for Harry to do tomorrow’s red carpet walk, but so is rolling into town seconds before an event and he sure did that and besides, given the publicity emphasis on it, I assume he’ll be featured. Who needs the official event anyway though, when you’re Harry Styles everywhere is a red carpet! Witness him arriving today in NYC with his guitar in hand serving witchy 70s rock star realness in a wide brimmed spy vs spy gucci hat and flowing black coat! (and bright pink socks, cause he’s Harry) He went straight from the airport to rehearsals and I guess facetimed a fan (???) He and Stevie will perform Stop Dragging My Heart Around tomorrow but it won’t be televised til next month.
The 4music televised ‘hangout’ with Louis that had still been listed on the schedule for tomorrow has been removed but the TOU video release is still listed as scheduled on another site. The hangout was a pre-recorded segment, rumour has it, so many consider its postponement an indication that the video release will also be delayed, but I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. In a new snippet from an interview from pre promo Louis says he won’t be doing TXF again in the most definitive declaration we’ve seen, and in further notes from yesterday’s O Globo interview we learn that when the publication attempted to ask about Zayn they were shut down by management and told that wasn’t on the table. This is interesting because it’s a reminder that they can do that when they want to, and that they didn’t or couldn’t do it to Dan Wootton, though I think it’s also possible that it wasn’t something that was on anyone’s mind to blacklist until after Wootton asked about it (to Louis’ stated surprise) and it became something that was getting press and distracting from solo Louis focused promo.
A writer for the Guardian was shitty and condescending about Louis in a super gross “he’s not a Real Man” kind of way, but deleted, presumably after being taken to task for attacking someone pointlessly and in the wake of a personal tragedy (if not also for the fact that that isn’t actually an insult and toxic masculinity is garbage). Louis talked in the O Globo interview about having a negative public image, and that tweet was a reminder that for all the people that love him, that is still something that’s out there. Hard for me to believe, but the press is an ugly thing and full of lies, no question (that’s not the part that’s hard to believe, but people thinking Louis is anything less than an actual angel on earth certainly is.)
Niall and Julia released a simple and pretty video of What a Time for a stripped down and pretty acoustic version of the song closing with cute mutual “I love you"s, and Niall tweeted about the sunshine in London.
And finally, Capital FM Best Fans competition results are in and they are a sweep for our boys! In order the prizes go to, #1 One Direction, #2 Louis, #3 Harry, #4 Liam and #5 Niall. HAHAHA I almost feel sorry for everyone else out there competing… But not really. Suck it fans of currently active bands! We don’t need “releases” or “concerts” y'all are just SPOILED! Meanwhile we out here thriving on toxic scraps like cockroaches in a post apocalyptic bandom wasteland…

y’all what’s happening tomorrow is a huge deal. stevie’s about to become the the first and only female artist inducted twice to the rock and roll hall of fame. there’s been 22 men who have gone in twice and zero women, until now. and harry will be the one welcoming her to the stage. let that sink in.
