Dinoâs Ramblings 1: What if... Y/N was a dragon in a fantasy AU, along with our main boys? Part 1!
-Jack, otherwise known as Sunny Day Jack, the heir to the affectionately nicknamed Cloud Kingdom, was a just and selfless man, always cheery and rarely angry. But the one thorn in his side was a dragon that often terrorized the kingdom when they pleased, a dragon only known as Y/N.
-The dragon mostly liked to terrorize the citizens of the fair kingdom with childish pranks, scaring the daylights out of the older citizens with a nice scare, tricking people out of their gold and valuables, things like that. They never went too far with it, but it was still annoying as all hell.
-Officially, Jack and Y/N were basically enemies akin to the old stories of the the hare and the hunter, always outwitting the other in a stalemate game of cat and mouse. Sometimes the dragon would win, sometimes the prince would win.
-But behind closed doors... it was a different story. Y/N was the affectionate beau of the otherwise spotless prince's reputation. Likewise, Jack was the 'dirty' little secret of the otherwise terrifying dragon's reputation. Not that either of you too cared much.
-Jack was a breath of fresh air from the stiff and otherwise annoying antics of other dragons, while you were the light of his otherwise boring royal life. With each other, you could just be... ordinary people. Jack entertained you with his stories of the court and tales he knew as an unofficial teacher of the children, while you entertained him with the inner going ons with dragon life in general.
-It didn't matter beyond the two of you, you were happy. Sure, each other could become possessive of the other, but it was brushed off as a mortal enemy thing, only one prince to one dragon, that sort of unspoken truth. Maybe one day you could officially tie the knot... the nobles and more snotty dragons were sure to have their heads explode from two 'enemies' suddenly rule the vast Cloud Kingdom and a decent chunk of the dragon's territory!
Shaun
-A lower to middle child of a noble family, Shaun as he was affectionately called was the only child and thus heir to the fame and fortune of his family's name... a name that well meant one that dealt with death. But besides that, he was raised well to be a kind gentleman.
-Now only if that meant he wasn't a friend of the dragon that terrorized the nearby Cloud Kingdom! The dragon known as Y/N had a soft spot for the man, mostly meeting in their younger years of studying what they wanted to be. Well, Y/N was taking the form of a mortal but the cat was out of the bag after a few years, but whatever.
-Speaking of cats, you had a soft spot for the feline that Shaun so lovingly named Moon Pie. He always wanted a cat but didn't want to commit until he was sure he could take care of one, so Moon Pie was the best thing to happen to him at that point.
-Moon Pie was blind, but super chatty, and was pretty friendly with you. It wasn't too unusual for the cat to just be plopped up against your tail and fast asleep, or meowing like crazy towards you for affection (Which you gave... how could you not?!)
-Because of Moon Pie's affections for you and your tight bond, Shaun grew to have... a bit of a crush on you. Sure, it sounded like something out of a ballad from centuries before but you made his heart sing! You helped him become a play wright while he helped you in figuring out what you wanted to do. Maybe he would propose sooner, and have Moon Pie with the ring around her collar. It'd be cute and memorable!
Ian
-Ian is... a somebody that both he and Y/N would be together for their rest of their days. For fuck's sake, you meet when you were kids and basically grew up like two peas in a pod! He was a regular peasant, albeit with a little more of a better upbringing than most, but his home life wasn't the greatest. It was mostly his mother.
-Your home was a safe haven as you grew up, from small children to teenagers to adults with your whole lives ahead of you. You both attended schooling to become what you wanted to be, with Ian wanting to become an actor. It hurt when he had to leave to keep that dream alive, but it was worth it.
-But then the news he cheated broke your absolute heart. The letter he sent was sloppily written, tear marks and all. He confessed to all of it, even if he regretted it... you basically ripped it apart. The howls and roars of anguish filled your home before Shaun and a few other of your friends found you, absolutely wrecked and half way between dragon and human, running off of instinct and the dying fumes of rage and sadness.
-It wrecked you both, and it was broken. Ian felt like such a piece of shit for it, and you felt like you were used. Even if there could be a way to repair it... it would take a very, very long time. A long time that you took steps towards.
-He never excused his actions, nor how it affected you. He gave you your space, respected your decisions, and did everything he could to show that he knew it was wrong. In turn, you listened for a bit and all that. Maybe something could change. It wouldn't be back to the way it was before, but maybe it could give way to something new.
