This trick has been featured in the famous magic show Penn & Teller fool us. I am not sure exactly how David Parr performed his trick but the same effect can be achieved by the method I am about to describe.

The method I used : I had a red deck and I gave the spectator a blue deck to handle, before the trick I already slipped the jack of spades from the blue deck to the red deck. The bottom card in the red deck had a piece of double sided tape stuck to its face. During the shuffle I kept a pinky break above the jack of spades in the red deck making sure that the jack of spades and the bottom card does not change positions. The spectator puts a random card into the red deck, and I place the bottom card with the double sided tape on top of it. This makes the spectator's chosen blue card stick to the bottom card of the deck, creating the effect that it disappeared. Knowing where the red Jack of spades is I place that on the blue deck, thus creating the overall effect.
