Hello New Amsterdam fandom,

I have a serious question about the Sharpwin ship that has been on my mind for weeks now. In light of the season finale airing in less then 2 weeks I guessed might as well send it out into the tumblrsphere.

I want you all to be very honest with yourselves if you do decide to answer this question:

Do you think Max Goodwin deserves to be with Helen Sharpe (at some point)? If so, why? List your reasons. I’m curious to read what you all will come up with.

Yes. 

Why wouldn’t he?

Max is not a bad guy. A lot of bad things have happened to him. It’s obvious that Helen cares very deeply for him (and vice versa) and she feels he’s worth her time. I think it’s a bit premature to write him off as being underserving of her this early on. He’s battled cancer since we “met” him, became a widower unexpectedly, and a single father to an infant daughter. We haven’t scratched the surface of all Max could be for Helen, because he’s been bogged down in sickness & grief for the past two seasons. I think there is a guy who is absolutely worthy of her underneath all of that and I hope we get the chance to see it!
