“Because when people profit from dogs instead of caring about their wellbeing it becomes problematic. That’s why adopting is on the uprise. Not saying that any dog isn’t a good boy, or any shade to Seth. Yes… we.” She said stubbornly. “Do I? Do you really think that?” Vic furrowed her brows, it wasn’t as if she didn’t wanna give off that impression, but for some reason it stung. “Oh. You think she’d do that? I mean.” Come to think of it, he had a point. “It wasn’t an ego thing.” She simply stated as she reached to toy with her phone.
“That’s kind of cylindrical, isn’t it?” He of course, was trying to say cynical. He did look a little dumbfounded. “So designers don’t care about their dogs? -- Hang on. What did I do?” Keeping his face still, he only shrugged to express himself. “I mean, yeah. I always just kind of figured if you wanted to be with me you would. It’s nothing on you, though. We’re probably just not cut out for it.” He didn’t want that to be true, but even Donnie couldn’t stay in the dark forever. “That’s something you’d have to ask her.” There was an elephant in the room Victoria wasn’t aware of. And even when it would’ve been smarter or fairer not to say anything, sometimes he had trouble shutting himself up. “Maybe she’s overcompensating.” Slowly, he looked over at her. “It wasn’t? Then why?”
