i know i keep saying stuff like this but one day catras going to realize that all along adora has been looking out for her and she has been looking out for adora and despite everything they have been through, no matter what the horde has put them through separately throughout their conflict with each other and all the forces that have been working to drive them apart - “it doesnt matter what they do to us” - they have come out of it ok in the end in part because of that. because they wouldnt actually seriously hurt each other and because catra wouldnt let shadow weaver wipe adoras memories and because adora wouldnt let catra fall off that edge even if they were in the middle of fighting and all of those things. shes going to realize that the promise is still intact, and it always was, and despite everything it was never broken
