––––––– while thayer didn’t know adara well, he knew how important she was to cal and that was all that really mattered. so he took the time to listen to her and nodded his head. “yeah, i can relate.” that was all he said, trying his best to ignore the burns he’d suffered trying to get others out of the fire. even after backing out of the CIA, once an agent, always an agent. “cal’s okay. you’re okay. jubilee’s okay. darcy’s okay. the riddles are okay. that’s about everyone i care about. oh and yves, as much as he irritates me.” the words were simple and he shrugged. “i can’t hope for much more than that considering how lucky it is that they’re all okay.”
Adara probably couldn’t compile a list, even if she tried. Though Calysta would top that list, she was also concerned for pretty much all of the students. “I heard that they took people to the hospital,” she said quietly. It wasn’t to shame him for his prioritizing, because that was just human nature and Adara knew that all mortals played favorites to their own kind. It was more for her own sake, to inform people and remind herself that they still had students to think of, even if it seemed they were out of danger.
