I'm still having some issues with the artblock, but I keep experimenting with styles to try new things :D. I made a few sketches of various Baldur's Gate 3 characters for possible future stickers or keychains and I'm pretty happy with the result!

Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.

Wherever you are, Lyra my little summer star, I love you always! Thank you for being the best thing in my life.

In honor of the BG3’s release, here’s my Tav, Bryland and the backstory that I wrote for him!

Name: Bryland

Race: Drow Half-Elf

Class: Wild Magic Sorcerer

Background: Guild Artisan

Backstory: Born and raised in Esmeltaran, Bryland grew up as an orphan in the Blossom Hall for Lakeside Children. At the age of 15, he came into his innate, chaotic power which ended in an unknown tragedy where Bryland decided to suppress his abilities in the magically oppressive Amn as well as out of guilt. Four years later and still ambitious to a fault, he dreams of becoming a successful mercantile company owner in Athkatla or Neverwinter. Bryland boards a small vessel sailing from Lake Esmel to Port Llast in order to direct commerce for his new employer’s company. As he sails the increasingly cold waters, Bryland’s ship is attacked by Illithids where he is captured and thus begins his story in Baldur’s Gate III . . .

Strengths: Ambitious, clever, thoughtful

Flaws: Possessive, over analytical, short tempered

He is put in an interesting situation as he despises and is disgusted by the Illithid tadpole being a parasite in his head, yet is infatuated by the power it brings and by the success it could yet bring to him. In addition to this, I might create a more fleshed out version of his lineage, but just for funsies since it doesn’t affect the gameplay at all.

My plan is to RP Bryland as a person who gathers knowledge before making decisions in order to get the best outcome — from his life as a merchant and bargainer.

Ideally, I’d try to lead him down a relatively good path, but he’s an ambitious boy, so we’ll see.

About the kiddos.

So In this universe I think Danny probably married Aegon first, because he would have already had the iron throne. Jon wasn’t in the picture when Rhae would have been conceived. So everyone at least knows for sure that Rhaenys is Aegon’s.

Rhaenys is pretty much her namesake/aunt come again. She’s a spitfire and always getting herself into mischief. She’s Aegon’s pride and joy, and Danny’s eternal headache.

Visenya is the second oldest, but it’s a little unclear time wise who’s her father. Danny and Jon didn’t get along at first when they first got married, and it seemed they only really slept together out of ‘duty’. It was only after Visenya was born that Jon and Danny actually started falling for each-other, at the urging of Aegon who was getting annoyed with the both of them and all their pent up sexual frustrations.

Elaena, is the curious middle child. She’s the spitting image of Danny. And a quiet little toddler who spends most of her time nuzzled against Ghost’s fur. Like Visenya, no one is exactly sure who her father is, either Jon or Aegon— but in private both king consorts quietly boast they are in fact her father.

The only boy, and Jon’s only ‘confirmed’ heir is Aemon, who was conceived whilst Aegon was away with negotiations in Essos. He is evidently a Stark in blood, and looks just like a young Jon. He’s a sullen, soft little toddler who prefers not to speak much. Thankfully for him, his three older sisters make talking rather pointless. Obviously there is the implied issue of his birthright, as the only boy against Rhaenys, the eldest daughter. But with a boy so young, and a queen regnant ruling Westeros, the issue isn’t quite a priority just yet.
