(off topic, but percy and annabeth argue over if long island or nyc bagels are better whenever they get bagels. this is a real argument. i witnessed this argument when i lived in long island)
annabeth: stop making it weird! i like olives a normal amount, mr blue food

percy once tries to talk to grover about this and if it’s weird and is like “should i be concerned?” and grover is actively chewing on an olive can
percy bribes grover with coke cans, annabeth bribes him with aluminum olive cans
percy tries to come up with an anniversary gift for annabeth once and is blanking and is like “what if i just give her more olives” and grover’s like “you cant JUST give her olives. but that could definitely be part of it”
when they’re older, at bars percy will only order annabeth drinks with olives in them, even though they (usually martinis) aren’t necessarily her favorite, but she thinks its funny and sweet
percy when he and annabeth get a pizza (half hawaiian for him because i think that’s funny, and olives (and sometimes other toppings) for annabeth) and there’s an olive or two on his side: by eating this olive i am showing peace remains between poseidon and athena, symbolically adding another shovel of dirt to cover the grave where their rivalry lies and my sacrifice—
