i’m already living in a time loop it’s called being employed
I don’t even know how to formulate how lost I feel. How sad, how furious, how terrified I am.
Growing up in a war-free country to then be confronted to violence and hate and fear, to blood and death as a young adult is brutal. Like many of my friends, like an entire generation, I’m now one of those young adults who was told during their entire life that wars happened far-away; that France itself was free and at peace; that its soil was not for guns and bombs and that civilians weren’t meant to die at random. With each terror attack, I feel like I’m waking up a little more and every time, I’m sickened by how naive I was, I still am. Every time, I shudder at how unable to cope and unprepared to react I am.
I have friends in Nice. My parents have friends in Nice. Luckily they’re all okay… unlike the 80+ people that were just celebrating and enjoying fireworks and drinks and music, Unlike the thousand that were close by and will be scarred for life.
I hope you’re all okay. I hope you’re all safe. I hope we’ll come together to get back on our feet, a little stronger but not yet numb.
On Easter Sunday, a suicide attack carried out by Tehreek-e-Taliban in Lahore, Pakistan took the lives of 64 civilians. The blast occurred at the security gate of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, a renowned residential park in Iqbal Town.
