it genuinely breaks my heart every time i hear about an elderly person who refuses to stop driving because while it’s obviously a serious safety concern for both them + others i also can’t imagine how scary and upsetting it is to know that once you give up driving you are basically completely dependent on the whims of other people for care and company unless you can afford alternatives…which is obviously also the case for other people who can’t drive + varies based on how robust public transport is in yr area. but there’s such a specific callousness i feel like people have when they talk about their elderly relatives that want to keep driving like as if they are just crazy and stubborn w/ no compassion for how the isolation and lack of autonomy (will) affect(s) them…and there’s this total refusal to reckon with how car-centric culture and infrastructural problems with how elderly care is conceptualized + set up are the driving forces of this and instead people just get mad at their elderly relatives for “making their lives hard” by. refusing to give up their autonomy and independence

The demo of The Flower That Bloomed Nowhere's VN adaption has been released!

Oh no! My life and my relationship to the story got kinda stressful and weird for a bit, and I fell off posting updates here. But that's not important today, because the visual novel demo is finally out!

Thank you so much to Benedict and Zerovirus for their help with the project, and also to Xeecee, who has done some of the music! (Though only three of their tracks made it into the demo; the rest will be later.) It's been a real learning experience so far, but hopefully this is just the start! Please give it a try and let us know what you think.

And if you have no idea what this is, The Flower That Bloomed Nowhere is a slow paced mystery novel centered around a class of mages visiting an organization trying to reach immortality, originally posted on somewhat-inappropriately on Royal Road. If you like this and haven't read it... well, it's a little sloppy in comparison, but consider taking a look at it too.
