Oh how I wish every day could begin like this one. First, a delicious breakfast in this cozy nook, where silence is observed and visitors are encouraged to “unplug” from their electronics. Then there was a tour of both the old (ca. 1639) and updated sections of the Monastery. I left my home at 3:30 a.m. for my trip to Quebec City. I’m not lying when I say it was kind of a tough trek. Two layovers and 14 hours later, I arrived at the front door of a place I can only describe as a haven of solace, Le Monastère des Augustines. I entered my tranquil room to find this sweet note of greetings and a packet of calming herbal tea.
