“Mirroring”
2024, HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU3) Berlin, Concept and Choreography by Isabelle Schad, Creation, Performance by Josephine Findeisen (Dance, Co-coreography, voice) Raoul Lesage (Sound& live Composition), Set Design and Visuals by Umberto Freddi, Isabelle Schad
“Mirroring is an encounter with dancer and choreographer Josephine Findeisen, including her physical qualities, energy, and voice, which become the delicate traces of a detailed, sensual, and poetic drawing. Her movement research on hands and arms meets Isabelle Schad’s ongoing choreographic practice around the universal power of the hands, the principles of shifting the centre of gravity and aikido. In “Mirroring”, Findeisen lifts, drags, and spins metal plates: heavy materials become her instrument, her clothing, or even an extension of her body. Hybrid relationships connecting weight and sound, labour and sensuality, voice and echo gradually unfold in a reflective space" From Mirroring by Isabelle Schad

“The Shift Of Focus”
2023, HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU1) Berlin, Concept and Choreography by Isabelle Schad, Set Design and Visuals by Umberto Freddi
"Shifting focus means adjusting the weight in relation to how we position ourselves from our own centre of gravity towards an action. On a metaphorical level it also refers to how we can shift our perspectives, our perception and focus, to other more universal forces. In a landscape made of a soft fabric and flying panels creating an extension to the sky, fifteen performers negotiate their configurations between protagonist and chorus, archetypal and emergent forces, gravity and lightness, movement and voice. The panels reflect images like dreams and light as an energetic prolongation (of the performers/spectators), while the performers oscillate between flying them through the air and being flown by them. The reversal of roles seems endlessly variable, from puppet to puppeteer, from chosen one to chorus, from singular to plural, from carrying to carried in order to find lightness as an answer to gravity (and life). Along the way a web of hybrid constellations unfolds, intertwining bodies, movement and material, poetry and humour, caring softness and the wild flow of a group’s energy in motion". “Audience With a Tree”
2023, "Cultural Community Center by PSR Kollektiv", Uferstudios Berlin, Artistic Conception by Jana Cruder, Installation Design by Umberto Freddi
Audience With A Tree is an immersive art installation in which visitors might become aware of their symbiotic relationship with the forest. Since 2017, Jana Cruder has been working with me on an art installation that focuses on the relationship between human beings and natural forests. It is intended to bring the atmosphere of the forest into an urban environment and make the vastness and spirit of the sequoia forests tangible for visitors. The art installation consists of lightweight canvas structures onto which images of Northern California's redwood forests threatened by climate change and trade policies are projected.
Thanks to the height of the Heizhaus, the canvases can be sized to represent real scale parts of the trees. The light wooden structures were suspended from the ceiling at various angles and inclinations, creating a virtual forest for spectators and a free space underneath.

“Wovon träumst du?”
2021, "Ausufern Festival", Uferstudios Berlin, Choreography by Daniel Almgren Recén and Lea Martini
The Studio 16 in the Uferstudios became a dream room. The audiovisual installation conceived by the two authors combined a biographical kaleidoscope of voices with our images floating in three-dimensional space. The transition between the real world and the reality of the dreams, shared by people who had been interviewed by the authors, to the world of dreams, had been expressed through the transition of photographs of natural and urban environment taken by artist Jana Cruder, to some of my pastel drawings, filmed and projected onto floating canvases, suspended in the room and hanging with different angles over the visitors. Photography and pastel painting as successive moments of thought.
