Richard and Doreen got married on October 3rd, 1996, in the large, gray-walled main visiting room of California’s San Quentin Prison. She was still a virgin and that was what appealed to Richard, she was certain of that. He felt she was his. When she had purchased their wedding rings, she’d bought a gold band for herself but a platinum Richard.

“Satanists don’t wear gold,” he’d said to her.

She couldn’t stop crying during the ceremony, which annoyed Richard, and he kept telling her to ‘put away the tears.‘

Spook Hill Motel in Lake Wales, Florida. Spook Hill is among the most famous “gravity hills” in the world. You park your car at the bottom – the town has painted a helpful line on the street at the starting point – put it in neutral, then sit in amazement as you roll uphill. Definitely on my places to visit, someday.
